finally I got my Visa

Post by anandpathak » Mon May 17, 2010 12:34 am

Hello Folks,

Finally i got my stamped visa for Tier 1 general.
few highlights :)
1. Applied at VFS bangalore on 23rd April without appointment.Reached VFS at 5:30 AM (3rd in queue)and came out after submission at 9:AM . Overall experiece good but no help/query/document assistence by VFS folks.
2.Had applied only for myself not for my dependents.
I had put "yes" in section 5 of VAF9 stating my family will travel later. Explained the same in section 7 (story) and reason for maintaining only 2800 pounds. I have put my wife and kid details in the VAF9.I had attached the original marraige certificate also.

3. Used a letter from ICICI bank ( Indiranagar) regarding maintenance funds . The case was special as i had linked FD's (quantum optima) with my saving accounts .I was worried as saving was showing wierd minimum balance . the certifcate explained all the linked FD number and current values of the same. Also the line ":can be withdrawn anytime in the certificate. I had only enclosed a seperate covering letter for maintennace funds expalining this. I had funds maintained in two accounts ICICI (major) and HDFC (minor). So use transaction statement and certificate from HDFC also. No issues faced while getting the letter.

I will be happy to help in case of any query from boarders. Pls feel free to drop me a mail at anand.imp AT gmail.com. Will share my mobile phone details through mails :)

Overall the experience was good and received great resonse from this discussion board.
I am looking for UK opportunities now. Uploaded my resume thorugh some good websites like jobserve .reed and CWjobs. I have plan to search for jobs from india for next 1 month before travelling to UK on a short vacation of 3 weeks from my current organization.
Got UK number also for my resume (mentioning both my UK and india number on my resume) . Its free and easy but its a premeuim number so folks calling from UK will be paying extra. So thinking any better idea for this.
Wish me luck :)

Cheers
Anand

STILL WAITIN!!

Post by wannabeinuk » Wed May 26, 2010 2:00 pm

Hi All... We applied for Tier 1 visa on the 19th of April 2010 and still our status says 'under process' it's the 28th working day today. We are on pins here.. what's the delay? why are they taking so long? We are really very anxious.

I read the posts and it seems like 6 weeks is the timeline to process a Tier 1 visa. Anand, you had applied a few days after we did, same vfs bangalore and you have received yours so quickly!

I have applied for my dependants too- wife and 2 year old child. Is this the reason why it's gettin delayed?? Really goin crazy here.. Also read that all processing is on hold since the elections, is this really true?

Tier 1 (General) same day service

Post by gauravs9 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 7:54 pm

Hi All,
First of all I'll like to thanks all of you for helping me in getting information about the Tier 1.
On Friday, I went for same day service and by 3:00 p.m. I got my visa.

I'll like to clear few things about the Tier 1, first is you can show the bank details of more than 1 account, i.e. you can split your maintenance fund in more than 1 account, for 2 months I have shown my indian account and after that I have shown my UK account, so it is not a problem. But you just need to explain that in your cover letter properly.

Further, if you and your dependent are in UK only on dependent visa then you even don't need to submit marriage certificate or birth certificate.

Third thing, I have shown my earning of 11 months as my Indian earning and last 1 month of my UK salary.

Frankly speaking the things are really very very simple.

Thanks for support.

Dear all,

I did my B-tech(pass) from 1988 to 1990 and then i completed my B-tech(hons) from 2007 to 2009. as it can be seen that i completed my degree in two periods........

In initial application form there is a Qualification assessment section is given where duration of study column is provided and it has a space for one entry" from"-"to". while in my case there are two different periods in which i have done my degree i.e from1988 to 1990 and from 2007 to 2009. please help me how these dates can be written in space provided and also will they accept my degree. reply awaited from all members.
Thanks
With regards,

Hi. I applied for Tier1 Visa from UK on 28th January 2010 and got refernce number but still wiating for the decision. It now more then 5 months have passed. And this long wait sucks me. I phoned up to UKBA last month and they said the application is still outstanding so wait but did not tell the waiting time duration. Does anybody know what to do? Who to make contact with? Its really too annoying now. Why they are not taking decision? Whats wrong with them..My all original documents are with them including passport. I do not know what to do? Is any body waiting that long???Any suggestions? Thanks.

Anand, you should be fine follow as suggested..
Thanks Ramesh. IS it ok if i write NO for both Spouse and Kids accompanying ? then should i write a story at section 7 stating that they will be applying after my tier 1 is approved?
