Well there were many possible ways:

1. Tax Return for the Year 2004. (as Tax returns for 2005 are not out yet)
2. Salary Slips
3. Salary Certificate from my employer
4. Salary Account Statement from the bank
5. A letter from the bank stating that I am maintaining a salary account with them and my association with bank is as long as I have been associated with my current organization and my current balance.

Its written that my case was approved. They have given me the positive assessment. But one thing i am thinking should be mentioned in success letters i.e. total points. Home office only provide the detail of marks for unsuccessful applications but on success letters they only mention that you qualify securing the minimum criteria of 65 points. This thing creates problem specially for those who have claimed the points for spouse. They remain unaware that either they have got the 10 points of spouse or not. Cause this may cause serious problem when they travel to UK alone and at the time of FLR, Home Office says that as we have given you the marks for Spouse and you were suppose to travel with him/her, but you did not and no FLR may be granted.

Please advise me the solution for such problem.

regards and best luck to all

here's my timeline:

1. 8 April 05 - couriered application from Australia
2. 12 April 05 - received by HO (7 days before my 28th birthday)
3. 20 April 05 - application received back from HO with problems relating to credit card payment
4. 21 April 05 - resent entire application with a banker's draft and took a photocopy of the front page (which was date stamped as received at 12 April)
5. 25 April 05 - received by HO
6. 29 April 05 - banker's draft cleared
7. 10 May 05 - contact HO requesting ref no. advised by charging team that payment had cleared and application was being sent to charging team that day.
8. 20 May 05 - requested ref. no by email to HO, ref. no given on the same day by return email together with confirmation that application received by HO on 29 April 05.
9. 20 May 05 - telephoned and emailed HO asking them to ensure that original receipt date (12 April) was recorded on their system as the date the application was received by them. Confirmation received on the same day from the HSMP Team that my application would be treated as under 28 application.
10. 15 June 05 - contacted HSMP Team by email requesting that they return my original docs so that I could arrange my affairs before departure in mid August and potentially apply for a different visa.
11. 16 June 05 - reply by email from HSMP team saying that my application was being given urgent treatment, and another email saying that my application, cover letter and cv had been lost. Scanned and emailled copies of each of these documents. Email received confirming that my application had been sent to a caseworking team.
12. 22 June 05 - Letter of approval (dated 16 June 05) and all original documents received from HSMP team - no prior email confirmation of any decision being made.

Persistance (and not patience) is a virtue.

I claimed 90 points (15 degree, 35 experience, 5 under 28, 10 spouse, 25 salary and wages). I was borderline on salary but I claimed it anyway relying on fluctuations in the exchange rate. Also I supplied a suite of documents relating to funds available, job prospects, efforts made to obtain employment, accommodation etc.

Good luck.

UPDATE: June 29th

Application Received:
April 4, 2005

Payment Cleared:
April 7, 2005

Acknowledgement Sent:
Never. I had to email the HO and was given my case number via email inquiry, even though I filled in the request to receive written confirmation.

Case Worker Assigned:
Not yet. I called today (June 10, 2005) and was told my application is still waiting for a case worker to be assigned. The nice woman who took my call said applications are taking around 13 weeks to be "processed" - meaning getting a case worker on the job. She did say once a case worker is assigned, assuming there are no problems with the application, that the turn around time is usually 1-2 days for them to approve/deny. I'm not a doctor or any other field that is receiving preferential treatment and I did not request urgent treatment, so it looks like average time is around 3 1/2 months.
Received notice in email on June 27th that my decision was made and my application was approved. Now I'm waiting on getting my letter and documents returned.

Dear R U sure that this NOTICE was from HSMP Team or HO? because i have experienced and elarnd from other members on the forum that they do not declare the result in Email and second thing, they do never send intimation about ur processing unless untill u ask them.

Was this email form your agent (if any) or the HO ?

Hi all-

My first post here, but my experience quick..

I personally couriered my application over to the UK to mail it a few days before my 28th- I think I mailed it on 26 May. I received confirm email on 1 June- payment went through sometime around there. Still awaiting a decision- does it really pay to bug those poor busy people?

In the US, trying to go "home" as I have been for several years now. Unfortunately this is a really clog in plans- I dont know if i should look for a job here or there, and will apply to graduate school (again) as a plan C. I do economic development and gambling industry research with a specific UK focus- anyone else on here NOT IT related?

Ref No Received

Post by fidelis » Fri Jul 15, 2005 8:57 am

Hi everybody,

I sent my application from Chennai, India on 23 June 05.

I did not hear from the home office till 06 July 05. Hence, I sent an email enquiring the above. They replied on 09 July that my appln had been received on 6 July 05 and allocated to a caseworker already. They have mentioned of my ref no as well and added it takes 4 to 12 weeks to make a decision on current applications.

Cheers

Dear Fidelis,

Congratulations that your file has been allocated to a caseworker. As you have mentioned that u recieved that email on 9th og this month, it has almost been a week now. You can enquire about ur status and i am sure that the decision must have been taken on that.

These days, HO informs you about ur aproval or rejection in mail only. So if you are eager to know your decision, u can email them as caseworker takes hardly a day or two to decide the application.

All the best..........

I had not attached my certificate of graduation and hence was rejected. Even if you do not say that you are re-applying they will know it. They gave me a reference number which was same as earlier except that they added 02 at it. As in the previous reference number was say 0126XX. The new number became 0126XX/02.
I did tell them that I was reapplying but not on the application page. The reference numbers are given at the credit card stage so they would'nt know about the reapplication from that page. Only when they reached my education page I talked about reapplication which they already knew...
So it doesnt matter

ok thanks dhana
but will they remove points from previous areas where they initially awarded points.
cos my hubby was awarded points on earnings without providing tax certificates since it was ready. although now he is including a letter from his employer stating that his tax has been remitted but but receipts not yet issued.
what do u think

Replying to dhavaluk:

Yes- it was absolutely a reply from the Home Office (with a Home Office email address) and yes, my case worker DID tell me the outcome of my application in an email. I knew two weeks that I was approved, before my documents arrived back to me.

Also, I contacted the HO several times to check on my status (didn't receive reference number, verify receipt of additional docs sent, etc.) and each time I contacted them, the staff was more than happy to discuss my case and provide with me info over the phone or via email.

Don't be afraid to contact them if you need to... just don't bother them un-necessarily if you don't have valid questions. :)
