Identity Card for Foreign Nationals

Post by vj123 » Fri Feb 19, 2010 11:27 pm

Sorry if am posting in the wrong section, but I just joined the forum today.

I am currently in the UK under the HSMP visa which will be valid till April 17, 2010. Was getting my documents ready under the Tier 1 scheme and noticed that the application form had something to mention about the Identity Card for Foreign Nationals

Any one have any idea about the Identity Card and whether I need to apply for an Identity Card before I apply for a Tier 1 extension?

Many thanks,
VJ

This Template will really help me. I am currently refused my extension to Tier1 on the grant of Maintanance fund and total earning and I have the option to appeal with 9days or leave the country.

My questions are:

1. Can I claim for gross earning before tax?
2. It is an outside country earning, what conversion rate should I use to show earnings in pound for points calculation?
3. what is uplifting?
4. Can I get a letter from bank in the uk, my maintanance fund though was in a current account for more than three months as specified in the guidance, but I moved the funds to a saving accounts and at application was less than three months. Please how can I address this?
5. Which is the best way to appeal, on paper or what?

How is visa application processed

Post by vineetgarg » Wed Mar 10, 2010 3:53 pm

Can somebody help and tell me, what is the entire procedure if one plans to apply for UK Visa.
Please explain stage vise. eg - what needs to be done first, like when we send the application as courier then do we send the original documents or they call us later with the original documents.
I am a little confused as to how our application is processed. what needs to be done when. Pls help.
Please let me know the online procedure also i.e.how do we apply online for UK visa. How it works and how our application moves in case of online application. when are original documents required in this case.
pls tell me both ways the online procedure and the courier procedure. Prompt reply will be highly appreciated.

Previous Earnings from two different employers

Post by nitint1 » Mon Aug 23, 2010 6:25 pm

Hi Chetan,

I'm also planning to apply by 1st week of September, from India.
In my case, in last 12 months previous earning is from 2 different sources, as well as my package is structured in Salary & Reimbursements, and these reimbursements are paid against Bills (if want tax free) monthly, or at the end of financial year, if not claimed, and become taxable.
Will Visa authorities count the reimbursements as part of previous income?
I have the reimbursement slips, in addition to the salary slips.

Please also share the template, for showing salary from 2 different sources.

is cover letter compulsory

Post by sudhakar_barua » Fri Sep 17, 2010 8:23 am

Hi, If I do not need to explain any thing in detail; and my Tier 1 form and evidences all straight forward- do I need to add a cover letter to state what is already covered in various sections of the form?

Hi Chetan,

I am new to this forum and I have immediately come across this thread as being very important for my future application for tier 1 visa. And your inputs have already been of immense help to me :)

Am a salaried employee with a software industry and I realized that I wont be able to make up the desired number of points only through my salary. So I have been working on weekends in a Friend's limited company for the last couple of months so that I can make up the deficit of INR 30000.

1.) So do you think that this earning of mine qualifies to be the earnings of a contractor who is neither self employed nor owning a limited company? Will the case worker consider such a combination of both salaried employee and contractor?

2.) If so, from all the inputs that you have provided, I summarize the following:

a.) Require Bank Statement where the INR 30000 is credited.

b.) Require a letter from an accountant who justifies the credit of these amounts. I have received bulk amounts. So should the accountant provide the tax deduction that will happen in the financial year ending? And shouldn't the accountant provide the statement only for the contract earnings and not for the salaried employment?

c.) Pay slips from the client for whom I have provided the services.

Is my above understanding correct?

I thank you in advance for the helping me understand the application process. Awaiting your expert advice on the same.

Thanks and Regards,
Shrinidhi

John wrote:chetanojha, I think that is incomplete. That is, with reference to the dividends paid, there should be a further column, "Tax Credit", and the amount of that Tax Credit is one-ninth of the amount of the dividend paid.

The point is that for tax purposes, as regards dividends, the taxable gross amount is the total of the dividend paid and the Tax Credit. (Unless someone is into higher rate tax, the amount of the Tax Credit covers the tax liability on that income.)

You might also want to add a further column, for clarification, say "Gross Total", which would be a total of the gross Salary, the dividend, and the Tax Credit attached to that dividend.
Hi John,

The dividends mentioned in the letter is Net Dividends which corroborates with the amount in bank statement. I used the same yesterday for my ILR approval.I will though amend the template and upload it.

I have made a mistake, can someone tell me if this is OK?

I draw salary and dividends from my limited company.

When I withdrew dividends, accountant told me 10,000 gross and some xyz tax component.

but i have transferred 10,000 completely!

what should I do ? Should I pay the xyz to govt? bank statement shows 10,000 credit

Should I ask for another dividend voucher with 10.000 as net and 10,000 + xyz as gross?

Please help

Earnings explanation

Post by maxyhunt » Fri Oct 22, 2010 10:41 am

Hi Chetanojha

I was paid 10,000 by someone to do a job for him full-time within the periods of June-December 2010

I want to apply in Feb 2011

How do I go about explaining this earning since it didn't come as a monthly payment.

I also do not have monthly pay slips to prove this even though I can prove it with my bank statement on the day the money was paid.

How do you go about explaining such contractual earnings?

Net salary deposited on two different dates

Post by sriatkrish » Wed Nov 10, 2010 1:46 pm

Hi,

For one of my claiming months(January), my net salary is deposited in the bank on two different dates as below:

Bank Statement:
date: 03/02/2010
description:Full and Final Settlement
Amount deposited:44000/-

date:03/04/2010
description:Full and Final Settlement
Amount deposited:46000/-

But my January Payslip shows the Netdeposited in my account as 90,000/-

I am planning to explain the same in tabular format ,saying that adding the two different net deposited would sum up to net deposited shown in payslip.

Hope this explanation would suffice. Please help me

Apreciate your help.

Thanks in advance,
Srimansi
