APRIL 2006 HSMP APPLICANTS

Post by HSPM_APRIL_2006_APPLICATI » Fri Apr 28, 2006 9:02 am

Is anyone here has applied for HSMP in the month of April 2006 with the new application form ? I have and I havent heard from the HO for the last three weeks. Of course they have confirmed the arrival of documents 4 days after they received the docs. Input from anyone would be greatly valued. :?:

Yeah, it looks like things have got damn slow in April, last month (Mar-2006) my friend (in-country application) got approval in 10 days.
I applied on 6'th April,
Received by HO - 10th April
CC debited - 11th April
Still waiting, yesterday I called them and they told because of high volume my application has not yet been allocated to caseworker even. This is the status after 3 weeks almost, ... very inconsistent service.

I do think it has slowed down considerably, but I'm remaining hopeful!

Application sent 7 April
FedEx confirmation 10 April
CC Charged 13 April
Reference number emailed 24 April

One thing that i believe threw them off a bit was the 4 day weekend over Easter. So while my cc payment went through on the 13th, the HO was closed the 14th and 17th and they then had to confirm that payment was correct (or so that's what they told me). Just something to keep in mind.

I'm assuming, please correct me if i'm wrong, that a reference number implies that your file is now with a caseworker?

I think its true, processing times are very slow in April, after new forms.
My friend's (in-country application) status:

Applied - 4th April
Received by HO - 5th April
CC debited - 11th April
Reference number recieved - 25th April

I received reference number on 13th still my application was not allocated to case worker till 27th, so this assumption is incorrect.

Any april applicants got a reply yet?
I understand easter holidays have slowed things down considerably, but compared to the march applicants, its disgustingly and ridiculously slow

Do HO informs that the application is allocated to case worker, like they inform reference number?

HO does not inform when your application is allocated to case worker, they will let you know only if you call them to find out status.

hsmp_april,

Just wondering if your application has been assigned a caseworker yet. I know you got your reference number a while back. How are things progressing?

Best wishes

You can call 0114 207 4074 to find out status, you need to have reference number ready as first thing they will ask the reference number.

BTW my HSMP approval has come, finally. Applying for EC this week.

hsmp_april, what is the date on your approval letter?
My application also follows your timeline, and I suppose I should be hearing some news soon.

Thanks,
Hany

HSMP-april

did you use the new form or the older one. I submitted mine at the very beginning of April and didn't realize there was a new form. I hope that it isn't denied because i mailed the application just as the form was changing (they received it April 10th as well, but it's still not been assigned a caseworker).

Hi all,

27 April Sent from New Zealand via DHL courier
2 May Shipment delivered and signed for by TELFORD
5 May Credit Card Charged

Still waiting on reference number.

I am meant to be leaving New Zealand on 20 June with my partner and will need a couple of weeks to process entry clearance with the British High Commission so I really need the approval in the mail by the end of May. Stress!

Alisondc: If you dont mind me asking, did you receive your ref number by email or over the phone? How long did it take? Best of luck with your application

Does anybody have the phone number to call to check on your application / ref number status?

Cheers everybody,

Having an earlier reference number, or having your credit card charged at an earlier date means absolutely nothing. I received my ref no on 7th April, and yet my application is not even being processed by a caseworker yet. My application, in my humble opinion, is probably one of the most straightforward. The checking of work experience seems to be a major stumbling block and a factor in the time needed to adjudicate the applications, yet I am claiming ZERO points for work experience, and all my documentation came from the United States, so I dont think aspersions cast on the authenticity of my application is a factor.

I am beginning to think that what is happening is that the applications are all thrown into a big pile, regardless of when it was submitted, and caseworkers pick and choose an application based on their whims and fancies.

The ENTIRE process is haphazard at best........

10 April - application received in Doncaster (FedEx Confirmation)
13 April - Credit Card Charged
22April - reference number was emailed to me (bit odd since it was a Saturday). I believe a great deal of the delay was due to the Easter Holidays and that once credit card goes through their charging department takes two days to confirm

As of this morning I'm waiting for a caseworker to be assigned. Spoke to a very helpful Home Office employee who said that the biggest wait right now is the time between getting the reference number and being assigned a caseworker. He mentioned that as long as the application is straightforward (meaning not complex work history) then the time with the caseworker is just a few days (2-3 days I got the feeling).

Best wishes!

Forgot to mention that the best number (i've found) to check on your status is 01144 114 207 4074 (that's calling from the states but i believe it will be the same in terms of calling codes).

They are quite helpful and will be able to tell you where your application is in terms of processing. Once you have your reference number they are able track the progress.

Best wishes!
