I hope so. I am just fed up with this waiting. It has been the longest and most stressful waiting in my life. But different cases may have different processing time. Anyway, hope you will get your passport with good news.

Hi Xiaowei,

I know it is painful, but you have applied on 16/09/2008, see the others who are waiting since June/July/August, consider me as well I have submitted my application on 06/09/2008, HO received it on 09/09/2008, they dedcuted the payment same day and letter was issued on the same day and still waiting.

I know it is very stressful, but we are the receiving end :)

Received 17 of October

Rejected, because of reason that my bachelor degree does not equates to British bachelor degree

I just sent the original degree to them and not the mark sheet (that detailed the subjects etc). Also i did not sent my one year diploma and oracle certification.

Now i am planning to sent my degree +mark sheet+ one year diploma (vb+database)+oracle certification to naric to see whether it equates to bachelor degree.

My question is that , do they take combination of qualification (like above) and make it
equitant to degree.

Also will it be worth putting the years of experience with degree. Will no of years of experience will also help making my qualification equal to British Bachelor?

If naric approves it will home office will also..?

Sorry to hear that, I am not sure, i will confirm it with someone and get back to you shaz999, i know it is very difficult to accept that.

shaz999 as you mentioned your bachelor's degree, can you tell me where have you completed it from (place of issue & study)?

Hope you all the best.

If you included a special delivery envelop with your application, they will post your paper using that envelop. So you should get it delivered to wherever you specified on the envelop.

If you didn't give them special delivery envelop for returning, they will just use first class recorded delivery addressed to wherever you specified as your contact address on your application form..

in either case, If no body is in at the time when post man comes, they will leave a card telling you to collect from royal mail sorting centre.

Shaz999 have you included any letter from your university stated your medium of instruction is in english, let me have more research on this as far as i think it should be acceptable provided with the letter.

Is your university listed in the Tier1 calculator for your english language requirement just check it and let me know.

And if not then you have to go for IELTS.

Hi Shaz999, Sorry to hear about your rejection.

I just looked on points calculator but points are not awarded for BSc degree from University of Punjab, Lahore.

Get your degree certified by NARIC. For urgent treatment from NARIC it may cost upto £200 to £300 but you will get result within 48 hrs.

Also, I suppose if your degree is not listed in the points calculator, you won't be awarded 10 points for English language requirements. You may want to get a letter from college/university stating your Medium of Instruction was in English.
OR
Appear for IELTS.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator
Above is the link of points calculator from Home Office website.

Thanks,
Viral

Thx all for the reply, actually i attached IELTS already so that is not
a problem.

as i understand 3 years degree from punjab uni will not be accepted
as british equal, will combination of

degree+i year diploma+cerrtifcate will make it equilant.

Hi Shaz999,

You can only claim points for ONE degree. So don't reapply with more than ONE.

Normally application is submitted with the degree fetching highest possible points. In your case it seems to be BSc.

But as it is NOT listed on points calculator, your degree needs to be endorsed through a body recognised by Home Office, which is NARIC.

If you can secure required 90 points with just your Diploma, that can be valid as well. I haven't seen anywhere in guidance notes saying that your degree must be a Bachelors or over.

I would suggest to read guidance notes thoroughly. It won't take more than an hour to go through.

Cheers,

Made a mistake in last post by saying minimum required points as 90. Actually its 75.
