Hello everyone,

Finally its my day. I was waiting for this day for sooooo long, didnt know when it will come.

After a long wait i got my Tier-1 approved.

Applied - 10/06
Reference- 12/06
Approved and stamped - 10/10 ( YES Exactly after full 4 months )
Docs recieved - 16/10
No UT sent

This 4months period was soo stressful, words cant explain. I am very happy as i got it in the end. THANK YOU Home Office. Thank you very much. This forum is brilliant and helped me a lot to keep my anxiety level down by putting my posts here. I was always OPtimistic right from the start and had deep faith in god that this will definately work.

I kept calling HO during this 4 months period from time to time and answer was always the same "under consideration" but in the end i didnt call them at all for the last 1 month because i was getting quite frustrated with the same answer all the time (still under consideration). then finally after waiting for whole month i called them on 15th and to my surprise the CC told me it has been approved and posted to me.

Guys just keep the faith and pray to god, it will be all good. I will be here to help you guys with whatever little i know.

Kind Regards

Grant :)

Grant - how did you get the CC to tell you that it had been approved? Last night was awful. I was told on Friday that it was posted to wait so I couldn't sleep thinking that it was arriving on Sat. However it didn't ....arghhh...

I didnt do anything special and just asked him politely. i guess this time when i called them they already processed everything and posted it to me. so it was fine for that KIND CC to tell me that it has been Approved.

Hope this helps

Hi People,

As someone who benefited from reading this forum I'd like to share my timelines with everyone as well in regards to an application from New Zealand. I hope this also serves useful for people applying from NZ (and Aussies potentially) with the lack of information regarding applicants from these areas.

All docs are NZ based (i.e. employer, degree, location). No urgent treatment was requested.

Application Type: Tier 1 General (Fresh Application)
Application Date: 25th Sep 2008
Application Received: 26th Sep 2008
Payment deducted: 26th Sep 2008
Application Approved: 17th Oct 2008
Documents Returned: 20th Oct 2008

26th Sept 2008 to 17th Oct 2008: Didn't receive any acknowledgement or updates whatsoever (partly my fault as I forgot about it for a week or so). I sent an email on the 17th of Oct to query about the status of my application and got a reply later that day saying the visa had been approved and the documents were currently in transit back to me.

All the best for those currently awaiting approval and I hope this post serves useful to some of you.

Eventually, I got my papers back with approval for 3 years!!!

The funnies thing is that I claimed 25 points for my previous earnings which are £27***.08. My family sent me £7000 in July 2008. The HO took this £7000 as part of my earning as well, so they awarded my earning points based on the total of £27***.08 + £7000. so they gave me 40 points.

My timeline is:
Application sent: 17/9/2008;
Application received by HO: 18/9/2008;
Fees collected: 19/9/2008;
Confirmation letter received: 22/9/2008;
Approval date: 13/10/2008;
Papers received: 20/10/2008;

Thanks for everyone's help and all the information published on the forum which has been a great encouragement during this period.

I will stilll be around here to share all my experience.

Congrats xiaowei and everyone!!

Guess what, the post just arrived and I got my visa!! I'm so happy I woke up all my housemates jumping around the house.

This forum has been really comforting in my moments of high anxiety. I was really worried bec my bank letter was signed NOT stamped and I had an online statement that was not signed or stamped bec ING Bank refused to do it for me.

I'm most excited because, after 2 and a half years on a work permit, I can finally tell my boss to kiss her mule. In fact I will email her directly after this post.

Thanks to everyone for all your advice and giving me confidence to apply by myself.

Hugs and kisses,
Sylvia xxx

heya

I've also realised that you really can believe what the CC say too much. They told me on 2 occasions that my visa was completed on the 16th of October. Prior to that they had always said it was under consideration. But my visa was stamped on the 10th of Oct, the day I was informed that it was assigned to a case worker.

here4tier1,

I also sent a UTR on 16/10/2008 using this fax number 0114 207 5862 which I was given by CC on the same day. I hope both fax numbers are in operation.

They would normally give UT if you already have a job offer.

you should put in the line in your letter 'it would be greatly appreciated if you consider my request for urgent treatment, however, please do not withdraw my application if urgent treatment is not granted'.

As far as I know the way HO treats UT is like that they will pass the application onto their manager who will then be dedecated to work on the case, which is supposed to quicker and give more appropriate decision.

I would not think that UT is just to purely give your papers back without processing. If it was true, it would be called Urgent Withdraw or just simply Cancellation!
