Finally a good news from me

Post by girlinLondon » Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:39 am

I applied for tier 1 on Dec 05th 2008 and got it finally this morning.

happiness comes in small packages. i was on leave today bcos i had severe tooth ache. at 10 in the morning my door bell rang and i got my parcel.

i was tensed and opened it to find my passport with visa stamped till 23 feb 2012.

i am so so happy now that tooth ache vanished. i am going back to india on march 31st but i know i ll come back soon from my present company. its best to stick in the present company for the time being ..

all the best to all other applicants. it takes time but its worth the wait!

Hi GirlInLondon,

Can you please tell us, whether yours was an Extension Application or Switching from other categories?

I am keen to know as you said:
I applied for tier 1 on Dec 05th 2008 and got it finally this morning.
I was tensed and opened it to find my passport with visa stamped till 23 feb 2012.
I can only assume you are switching from other categories to T1(G), as there is significant time difference between you date of application and passport stamp date.

Dear All,

I am in a desperate situation. I applied for WP to Tier 1 switch on 9-Jan-2009. I have still not heard anything from home office. Everytime I call them they give me a random status. Currently it is 'Awaiting Further Consideration'.

Recently, my FIL was diagnosed with a life-threatning illness. He is undergoing a surgery on 17-Mar-2009. My wife has to travel on the 16-Mar-2009 to India because of this.

I faxed the urgent request treatment along with my wife's travel tickets and FIL's medical report on 05-Mar-2009. I don't know if the home office has considered this request or not. And I need her passport by 16-Mar-2009 in any case.

Can anybody suggest what I should do?

Thanks,
Rohith

It'd difficult. There's no guarantee that urgent treatment requests are always considered. Short of withdrawing your application, I don't know what else you can do....

Not necessarily. I'm saying that I sympathise with you being in a very difficult position. Clearly, your personal circumstances dictate that you need to travel, and understandably so. However, the UKBA may be unable to process your application and return your documents to you in the required time, even in spite of your urgent treatment request, though I do hope they return it in time.

Wjat I am saying is that if you consider the worst case scenario, and they are unable to process your application in time, what would you rather do? Would you rather travel and forfeit your application, and have to reapply later, or do you persist with your application and risk being unable to travel?

Obviously, I hope that you get a favourable result and get your documents back in time, but if you don't then you're in an unenviable position and you have a difficult decision to make.

Rohith...

Ideally the UT should be sent atleast 2weeks before your planned date of travel.. but i still have lots of hope that your application made on 9th will comeout successfully by the end of this week..

I wish you hear good news soon.. though u sent ur UT 10days to ur date of travel.. i am sure they will look into ur application and give u a decision because you applied on 9th Jan and all applications sent around that dates are provided with results

Wish you good luck and wish your FIL gets well soon
