Applied for HSMP to Tier 1 on August 5th, 2008 from UK.

My application date was delayed by two weeks due to finding a new requirement for proving access to resources for spouse (£533 for three months) that required getting documents sent to me from the bank in the States. This was in addition to the £800 for me I found out as part of the new Tier 1 requirements (back in April). I also had to change the name on the savings account the £800 was in to prove it was "mine."

My big hope is that everything will be in order by October 3rd, when my sister is coming to visit me from America. We had already bought tickets to go to Italy before I found out the application times were so distorted and without my passport there will obviously be some problems with my travel.

I am lucky, though, in that my company is paying a solicitor to organize everything - though they are the ones who told me so late about the second bank account and caused me a delay in my application.

I am looking forward to being approved for another 3 years.

Re: Maintenance funds

Post by pcmalik » Wed Aug 06, 2008 9:49 am

I think one month gap is for transitional arrangement. I have applied for switching from WP to Tier1, so I am not sure whether this gap is allowed.

I called HO today morning and informed them that I am sending my latest bank statement covering the gap. I have asked to put a note on my application to wait and not to make any decission until my latest bank statement reaches...I am not sure whether they will really wait for it. Fingers crossed now, I have sent my latest bank statements by special delivery
summerleaf wrote:hi mailk,

I do not think it is a problem. You applied on 3 June 2008 and for applications made before 28 June 2008, there was a special arrangement, that is, you only need to submit a bank statement dated with a month immediately prior to your application. In your case, a bank statement dated anytime between 3rd June and 2nd May should be fine.

pcmalik wrote:Hi guys,

I have got a query regarding maintenance funds.

I had submitted my internet saver account statement as a maintenance proof for the period of 01 Dec 2008 to 28 May 2008.

My tier 1 appication was posted on 03 June 2008, so there is a gap of 5 days between bank statement and application submission.
So would it create any problem as according to their guidance notes prior to 29th June 2008 it says:
"Personal bank or building society statements covering the 3 month period immediately preceding the application".

Decission on my application is made by the case worker but the decission is still pending to be made by the case worker's manager.
Can I still send my bank statement covering the period 28 May 2008 to 27 July 2008 which I have just received by post from the bank?

I have not been told about the decission yet.

Please advice.

Good News

Post by tier1_june5 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 10:43 am

I finally received my approval letter with all the documents today.

Date Applied - 3rd June
Ref. Received - 4th of June
Application received with all the docs - 6th August

Sent an urgent request form last week (But it seems that it was not needed anyway. Called HO yesterday and the customer service agent told me that my urgent request hasn't been uploaded into the DB).

This comes as a big relief to me.

Hi,

Did you apply as Work Permit > Tier 1 or a student > Tier 1?

I did send a urgent treatment letter on 28 July08. I am not sure if that had any impact on the processing of my application. I sent them my flight ticket booking details for the 10th of Aug 08 and a letter from my UK employer stating that I am needed back in UK for a project asap.

I have been in the UK for the past one year and have been working on a work permit dependant visa.

HSMP Extension under Tier 1 - getting delayed???

Post by veereshkb » Fri Aug 08, 2008 12:53 pm

It looks like HSMP Extension under Tier 1 are getting delayed....
Any Idea???

I made my application on 9th June for HSMP Extension under Tier1 (JR was not there at that time).

Now since the Judgement Ruling is implemented, to consider the old HSMP rules, I'm wondering what is happening to the applications made before this asking extension under Tier1!!

Have any of you got same situation???

Hi Everybody,

This forum is a big support. So Thank you very much to all...

I applied on 20th of June but I forgot to send the Police Certification, caseworker asked for it, I've sent it on monday. It's confirmed that has been received. Today I sent an email kindly asking if it's possible learn when a decision is made and when documents to be sent to my address so i can make sure someone will be at home. I've been told the decision is made and documents sent to relevant team and they're not allowed to confirm the outcome of the decision. I will be informed when i received the documents...

Has anybody had a similiar issue? Do you think it's bad or good :) Because i've read that many people have been told by their caseworker that their application is approved.

Hi,

Well if ur getting 75 points,,,u will be given tier 1 extension...and if you are not getting them then ur case will be reviewed against old rules of economic activity.

they are not processing application received untill 24th june 2008...it depends upon the complexity of ur documents and applications as to how much time it takes....a straight forward application will take 1-2 weeks once it is started to be processed.

i'm not so sure if theyre only processing upto 24th june. as i posted earlier, i had sent my application for tier 1 extension on the 15th of july and i got my passport stamped and returned by the 5th of august.
so i dont think the date of application matters.
if your papers are in order and you meet the criteria please do not worry as they have no grounds to refuse your visa.
if anyone needs any help with their forms please let me know

My application is for an extension (1+3+3) under the transitional arrangement. I mentioned I came into HSMP before Nov 2006 but didn't mention JR judgment.

Application sent: 12 June
Fee deducted: 16 June
Reference No. received: 10 July (email and letter sent to HO Customer Service Centre at the end of June because of address error by myself. Call to HO on 1 August. They refused to give me any information about my application, and only told me they updated my address after I asked)
Decision made: 25 July
Visa stamp: 30 July
Valid until: 25 July 2001
Documents received: 8 August

In the decision letter HO mentions that my application has been assessed against the extension criteria that was in place before 5 December 2006.

Good luck to everybody.

I dnt think you should worry about that, i think it really depend on the case worker and also so many people had a same issue as you they dnt really give out any infomation right till the end.

Could you please tell me to wht email address you sent an email to in order to know when the decision has been reached on your application.
