Hi,

I think there is very little you can gain by losing your patience. I believe, according to my past work permit related applications with home office, the information they provide from the call center is not up to date. So there maybe a lapse in one or two weeks in the case worker making the changes and updating their database which the call center ppl use to give us feedback. I reckon for an urgent treatment to process it takes about a week or two but you wont get that information stright away from the call center ppl.

I reckon roughly it takes about 8 to 9 weeks from the date home office gets the application for your passport to come back. This is clear from the time scales of what the other users are saying.

I am on the same boat as you guys are.

Dont worry, they should have alrady got it. Its just the people on the phone do not get updates on time.

After I sent my 1st UTR, I emailed them and also phoned them, through the phone, they said they didnt recive it and asked me to fax again. So I did. But later on, I just got the email comfirming the receipt of the first UTR.

This happend a week ago. And it was my employer did it on my behalf. But I am still waiting... This wait makes me sick.

Looks like my efforts paid off. After repeatedly bombarding them with faxes, they finally told me today that it has been received and recorded. :D :D
And it has been passed to a caseworker today. The call center guy was really nice, he called the caseworker and asked him if he needed any documents etc, but caseworker said all documents are fine. So fingers crossed, next week perhaps, I will get the damn thing!! :? :? :?

I agree with this theory. Info on phone is neither updated nor correct. It is a standard reply. Also urgent treatment works or not is not confirmed. It could be a coincidence if you get your documents earlier. It is a random processing. People getting after 3 weeks and even after 15 weeks for similar cases. My opinion is that case worker/immigration officer have lot of discretionary powers,. They can put case in scrutiny or just make decision or send it for checking/verifications from other agencies. Therefore I suggest that patience is only key solution to the problem. No point even keeping a tracker site as well. Here we should share exlanatory info and actual objections if some one gets it. Tracker is a torture. How home office works, nobody knows. Again I suggest that when you apply give 3 to 4 months clear time and no travel plans etc. Meanwhile my experience with immigration authorities with canada is also not different. Immigration sections of most of the countries are like a black hole which you are trying to explore for information.

Just off the fone (after 4-5 repeated attempts) with a gentleman.

He said a decision has been made and documents have been sent out on Wednesday.

I was about to hang off when he asked me if i wanted the tracking number. Got that as well.

Then asked if he would let me know the decision and he said its granted. :D

Good luck to all. Stay positive.

Yay!

I received my Tier 1 today - dated from the 19th of August. I applied on the 25th of July and sent an Urgent treatment in which got accepted, so overall processing time was less than 4 weeks for me!

Let me apologise before i write long mail. Neither i am excited nor aggrieved but my point is proven. please see sequence
1) My child applied for TIER 1 (though covered by JR) on PBS on 10th jun but by mistake sent fee of 350 pounds instead of 750
2) Realised mistake while consulting on this forum and immediately sent additional 400 although generalconsensus on forum was that it will not be entertained as they do not connect payments and probably will send back additional fee and papers by invalidating application and barring to work due next out of time application. Nothing happened and payment sent on 28 jun though acknowledged but later sent a letter on 9 th jul of receipt of payment
3) Forum friends suggested that processing starts from date of payment but it is not true
4) Application of 10 jun were considered on around 25th jul, so not payment in full of 9th jul.
5 Case worker asked for new photos on 25 th jul and same sent on 28th jul.
6) After that it was silence. On 6th aug sent urgent treatment request to case worker who was nice to say only that case is in next stage of processing.
7) On 7th aug spoke BIA rep who advised to send urgent treatment request on certain fax number and told that case is still with the case working tem
8)On 12 th aug wanted to know the progress and customer service agent nicely told that case is still under consideration with the team
9) Fact was that visa was stamped on 4th august. I really do not know following questions a) Why everybody in HO was saying under consideration while visa was already stamped
b) Why documents were held up till 23 august while visa is stamped on 4th aug
I tell u these are mystries. I suggest NO calling HO because info is just gossip

Reagrding this i am quite certain that the work on the case, only starts when ur payment has been processed not before that because i have spoke to 2-3 different CCE on various ocassions and asked them specifically when exactly the case goes for processing, they informed that the date they give out ( when they say " we are currently working on the applications of DATE " ) is indeed the date when the payment is cleared.

Hope this helps !!

Hi Friend

You may be right but my point is that what ever they tell you is not correct. See our time line
Application submited on 10 jun with less fee, received letter on 11 jun payment cleared
2) Sent additional fee 400 on 28th jun received on 29 th jun as per post office record
3) Letter from BA of receipt of additional fee dated 9th jul received on 16th jul
4) Case started processing on 25th jul, date when they were dealing cases of 10th jun. As it is not common to start processing in 15 days after 9th jul
5) You have a point that processing is only after payment clearance but queue is in order of date application is submitted

REGARDS I hope i make it more clear by refering to ctual case

I really doubt about the processing date...as I received my reference number PB3*** in 2 days and the date on letter was the very next date I send my application on.....As I paid by cheque, it got cleared 3-4 days later...surprisingly I received the same letter again from HO but the reference number was same i.e. PB3****
Therefore I think reference number is allocated on receiving of the application, however payment may take couple of days...as long as payment is cleared applications are processed based on reference numbers,
as it is already cleared that it takes few weeks when application is assigned to case worker, I think it won't matter whether payment was cleared on next day or after few days (in case of cheques), and apps received on same days are dealt with respect to the date HO received that apps.
