Hi All,

Some good news. Few moments after I put this post on the forum, got the passports stamped with the Visa :D
It was really a pleasant surprise to have received the application in just less than a month.

Dates:

Application Date: 25 August 2008
From: VFS Bangalore
Application Processed On: 23 September 2008
Document Received: 24 September 2008

I think these are amazing timelines.
Thanks to everyone, got some veru useful info from the forum.

I along with 1 dependant had applied for Tier 1 on 25th August from VFS Bangalore. The status on VFS site is changed to "Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on 23 Sep 2008".
I checked with VFS and got to know that this does not mean that application is accepted, it could be rejected as well :(
I'm a bit sceptical as to how did it get processed in a month whereas from what I see on the forum, its taking much longer for everyone. Does that mean its rejected?
Would calling the HO help to know the exact status?

Thanks NutanRaj. But me and my wife are still in India and starting to hunt for jobs...could someone help with maybe contacts of some recruitment consultants in UK?
Regarding your questions, the document we submitted were (For 1 prime applicant and 1 dependant):
1. Passport
2. Degree Certificate
3. All 8 semester marksheets
4. Final year marksheet
5. Salary slips for months Aug 07 – July 08, with sign and seal of company
6. Bank statements of sal a/c for 01 Aug 07 – 20 Aug 08 with seal and sign from the bank. Highlighting the monthly net salary payments, bonus payments etc.
7. Letter from bank stating that the amount was always over 4400 GBP in the account numbered xxxxx
8. A recent passport sized photograph (please note that photographs should measure 45mm x 35mm and be:
a. in colour taken against a white background;
b. clear and of good quality and not framed or backed;
c. printed on normal photographic paper;
d. full face and without sunglasses, hat or head covering (unless it is worn for cultural or religious reasons but the face must not be covered)
(If the application is successful, the photographs provided will be reproduced on the visa vignette).
9. Letter from Sponsor for dependant
10. Cover Letter for the application
11. VAF 9 form
12. PBS Appendix 1
13. VAF 10 form
14. Printout of points calculator
15. 2 DDs of INR 51000 each in the name of “"British Deputy High Commission " payable at Chennai
16. Integra form (to be taken at VFS centre and filled)
17. Accomodation Proof in UK (Invitation letter from a relative)
18. Photocopies of each document (which is submitted as a proof).
19. Marriage Certificate
20. Printout of appointment mail

The Integra process did not take place in our case, probably that helped in the quick stamping. From what I have heard, Integra does not happen for everyone, so probably we were lucky.

Hope this helps.

Wp visa expiring --TIER 1 application stil under process.

Post by vijayvvd » Thu Sep 25, 2008 9:01 pm

Hi Guys,
I got a problem , My tier 1 application is stil under consideration 8th August.

Due to maintenace fund availability ...I sent application for myself and my wife only.... However my 2 year old kid's application was not sent.

The Wp and dependant visa will be expiring on 30th Sept, mean my kid's visa is expiring..I have not applied him as TIER1 dependant.

Now what do I DO?

Can I apply for my kid as dependant even if my application is stil under consideration (quoting the reference number of my application ) and paying appropriate fees.
Now I have sufficient balance to cover all 3 of us.

Any procedurial conmfirmation on thi.

please help me

Dear all,
getting bit confused about the integra check.
some of the people in this forum mentioned that they have autherised their bank to provide the information to integra guys.
i got a letter from bank stating i have maintained more than 4000 GBP for past 1 year. do i need to do something else for the maintainence requirement?
please let us know if this is not sufficient.
regards

Hi, guys,

I got my papers back yesterday - I'm approved for three more years! Oddly though my cover letter said that since I'd originally applied (back in 2006) for the HSMP that my application was judged against the old HSMP criteria. Very confusing. On the other hand it says that with my three more years of leave, "this will be sufficient to take you to the current qualifying threshold for settlement." Hurray!

The stamp itself says "Tier 1 (General) Migrant." My husband's says Tier 1 Partner (we applied with him as my dependent as his income did not cross the threshold). I don't think the old one marked him as a dependent.

Dates:
Submitted August 5th
Receipt confirmed August 8th
Approval letter dated September 16th
Mailed out September 23rd
At my post office September 24th (the notice didn't say what it was, just something requiring a signature)
In my hands, September 25th

Thanks all for your informative discussions and helping me keep my cool the last two months. Now when my sister arrives next week I can take her to Italy like I promised last year (the trip is a gift but it was going to be a pretty short trip without my passport). She has a child on the way so no travelling for many years to come - this is her big sister getting to spend some time with her and I'm really looking forward to it after worrying for so long it might not happen. :-)

Hi all,

I got my Tier 1 stamped on September 24th.

Category: Student to Tier 1
Submitted: August 8th
Receipt confirmed: August 11th
Money deducted: August 13th
Visa stamped: September 17th valid until 17th Sept 2011
Received documents back by post: September 24th

Actually it took me by surprise because I was expecting it to take longer. I would like to thank all people actively participating on this forum for making life much easier for me and many others. All the cover letters and formats, templates etc. were very useful and also saved me the consultant's fees.

Good luck to all applicants. Thanks once again.

Hi All,

Guess there are a lot of us still waiting since applying in June 2008 (perhaps some in May 2008 as well). The wait is taking its toll over everything. Last week I called, its was still under consideration (HO and solicitor).

Congrats to all receiving your visa. Good luck to us who is still waiting.

Applied 17-June
Fee Taken 19-June
Request (Confirmation that No public funds is claimed) 19-August

still waiting.................................... :!: after 15 weeks of waiting.

cant do anything as we are at the recieving end, they are doing whatever they feel like. Havent called HO for 2 weeks as there is no point, it hurts even more when u hear the same response again and again i.e " Still Under Consideration". Applied in 2nd week of JUNE.

Hope this wait brings sweet result in the end. Keeping the faith :)

Hello everybody

Just wanted to update my timelines as my Tier 1 visa got approved. I received the documents today

Sent application - 20 August 2008

Payment Deducted - 22 August 2008

Received my passport along with my dependants - all stamped with Tier 1 visa along with a letter providing details of points scored - today 01 October 2008.

This is amazingly fast and when my wife called me today saying that a post has come brom border agency - I was worried as only yesterday when I called the home office they told me that my case was allocated to case worker on 24th. Now my approval letter was dated 24th.

The point is don't waste your time checking for status at Home office - systems are not upto date.

My application was straightforward with move from WP to Tier1.

Thanks to everyone who provided replies.

Hi

Many Congratulations. I have been told that the HO has a policy of not updating their systems with the status of applications till the time they have not been despatched, may be even later.

Did you apply for urgent treatment or was it totally as a normal case.

Hi itguy_uk,

I hope so. The problem is that they dont seem to be moving beyond 27 Aug. When they move beyond 27 Aug that's when we would know that some of the currently pending cases have been resolved.

I always thought that my case was also straight forward when I first applied in May through a consultant who screwed it up bad. By the time the Home Office got back to me with the issues in my application my leave had expired. They asked me to apply again but quit my job. So I am awaiting the result very anxiously.

I have 4 dependants. Does the number of dependants affect the speed of processing.

Hi OB40,

Don't worry..We will get it soon. Its just matter of few days.

I don't think the number of dependents will have bearing on the speed of processing. Anyway lets hope for the best.
