hi I am currently in a Tier 1 visa. I first obtained my visa in May 2009. I came to the country in May 2009. After that, I could not get a job and left in June 2009. I came back again in November 2010 and have since lived in this country. My first tier 1 extension was submitted in May 2012. It was rejected because I did not show national insurance contributiions. I successfully appealed and got my visa extended in June 2013 until June 2015. Now, I need to extend my visa until Nov 2015 to apply fro ILR. I contacted UKBA who informed that I can submit an extension under FLR(0). does anyone know if this is the proper procedure or shall I get an extension under Tier 1.

If you are falling short of 5 Years period, apply for extension of Tier 1 before 6th April 2015.

Dear Experts
I have a query regarding the Tier1 General Visa extension. Currently I am holding Tier1 General visa valid visa till Feb 2017 but I am short of time to complete 5 years. As now the Tier 1 General is going to close on 6th April 2015, So Can I apply for extension although I am having current valid visa until Feb 2017.
Please need your experts advice. Please give me your good suggestion or any one experienced these days having valid visa for more then a year and get extension for 3 years.

Thanks and waiting for your urgent response.

Hi,

Yes if you think you will be short of five years by the end of current extension, then you must apply asap. I applied in May 2014 for 2nd extension while my 1st extension was expiring in Jun 2015, so I got three years extension till May 2017.

Hello,
I have posted my visa application as stated in my post approximately 1 month back. I have enrolled for biometrics as well. Its seems that most of the members are getting their visas in 2 weeks after biometric enrolment. I still have not received my visa. Even though UKBA/ HomeOffice say that they process the visa within 8 weeks is there any number or email we can enquire about visa.

Thanks

Hi all,

I posted my Tier 1 renewal application on Mar 24th -- using SPECIAL DELIVERY to the COURIER ADDRESS.

It was received and signed by someone on Mar 25th 7:30am.

And it is March 27 today --- so my application has been sitting in the office for 2 days but no payment has been debited on the credit card. I also called them up to see if the application would track on their computerized system but it doesn't yet appear.

I'm a bit concerned as next week is the last week before they close the Tier 1 renewal.

- Anyone else recently posted their application?
- What could I possibly do at this stage?

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks
Ash

@ash241

It could take a couple of days for it reflect on your credit card account. You should look whether the credit limit has gone down.
That happens in real time.

@lezzfrancis -- Thanks for the tip! My concern was that the payment hadn't even been attempted in over 3 days - but finally I could see the charge authorization come on Friday afternoon and payment was finally posted on Sat. And I was able to track it real time using what you suggested so thanks for that! :) Appreciate the quick response. Will post my case details over the next few days.

Has anyone got any updates with their extension application recently? I had applied by post on 2nd April, payment taken on 9th April, Biometric letter received on 20th, Biometrics submitted on 21st. Still awaiting return of passport and approval.
UK visas seem to be taking a long time for processing as until March approvals were being received within a month application. Any updates from anyone?

Hey Rscorpio - I have a similar situation on application date (2nd April) and acknowledgement letter (17th April) and I provided my Biometrics on the 24th of April. No news yet. I wouldnt be too worried though. It seems this will take another 2 weeks to get cleared. I think the number of applications typically surges in the last week and this builds a huge backlog. Also we have had a lot of bank holidays in the last month. Lets stay in touch over this forum - so we can update each other on timelines.

Thanks for the update. Will update as soon as I hear anything. It will also be interesting to hear from someone who has just got an approval and when they applied. We would get some indication how far behind we are. This timeline post seems to have gone dead otherwise as last approval was more than a month earlier.
