2. Date of PEO Appointment : 8-Dec-2012
3. Number of dependants: 1

5. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 04-Jan-2013
6. Date of expiry of the new visa : 04-Jan-2016
7. Payment mode : Debit Card and Credit Card
8. Name of PEO Applied : Glasgow
9: Approval letter: Given on the same day after 2 hours waiting
10. BRP Received on: still waiting

My appointment was at 11am and we reached PEO office by 9:55am. After finishing the security we were allowed inside and had to wait till 10:55 am.

We were called by the visa officer at 11am. He was a real nice guy. He asked us our application forms, Bank statements, salary slip, degree certificate and marriage certificate. we also carried company letter explaining the salary but officer said the salary slips were enough. As this the first time we are applying within UK he said he needs to check my degree certificate and marriage proof. He then asked if my wife had any proof of address in UK. This was to prove that she lives with me. we gave him the bank statement which is there in my wife's name. He then asked about my company and whether i had any shares in my company.I said no i am just employed. Then he asked us to wait until our number is called again.

He called us around 11:20 am and said at this point the application looks fine. He asked us to wait until we are called for biometric in a different counter. Also he mentioned that we don't need to do anything for payment as it will be deducted from the card numbers given in the application form.

We had to wait for around 30 mins before we are called for biometric. The officer who took our biometric was even more friendly. He asked us where we are from and how long have you been in UK while taking biometric. He then asked us to wait until we are called again.

This was the longest wait and we were really nervous. There were others who were waiting there with us. After 40 mins wait we were called again to another counter. There was someone else this time not the same visa officer who collected our application. He was also polite and he finally gave us the good news that he is grating us further leave to remain. He said he is granting visa from the date our visa expiry. We were glad to hear the news and then he asked us to sign few paper work and then we handed over letter of confirmation.

Thank you for everyone who contribute in this forum without which we would have struggled. If you need any help regarding this please PM.

Our appointment was at 9:00 am. We reached there by 8:30 and were let in right away. The security was swift and after a quick document check, we were asked to go to first floor and make the payment. Within 5 minutes of making the payment we were called in for biometrics. This is where we hit a snag. Our daughter was suffering from high fever and was very cranky. She refused to sit still for the photo and all our attempts to calm her were unsuccessful. I must say the caseworker was very patient and extremely understanding. He asked her to take her out for a walk, com her and bring her back. We told him she was sick and asked if we could bring her in right away as soon as she calms down or do we have to wait. He spoke to his supervisor and the supervisor to,d us to just walk in. We walks dour daughter to a nearby mall and with a few new toys and bar of chocolate am angled to calm her down. We were called in as soon as we came back and the supervisor immediately and quickly took her photo. He also played with her and kept her happy as our biometrics were being done.
After 29 minutes we were called by a case worker. He was quite rude and asked for employment letter and p60. We had shown bank statements and salary slips. My husband showed him that but he kept insisting that employment letter is needed, else he would have to waste time verifying. My husband argued that employment letter or p60 weren't in the mandatory list of documents, after a few minutes of muttering he approved our case.

Overall most people at the office were very understanding and helpful

Hi there

I have just seen that you applied for extension through Glasgow PEO and got the extension from visa expiry date and not from appointment date.

I have few questions to ask and would appreciate if you can help.

As you have not received your BRP yet, Are you sure that you have been given extension from 4th Jan and not from 8th Dec?

Did you request the case worker to issue visa from the date of expiry of your current visa?

Please dont ask any question in this thread.

To answer your question

if you submit your application within 28 Days, your new visa will start from the expiry date. please read the guidance notes.

Thanks

Thanks Ash, but there is no where in the guidance which confirms about 28 days.
The reason I asked these question is that other memebers have been granted their leave from appointment date even they applied with in 28 days and those relate to Glasgow PEO. This is the first case I have seen from Glasgow PEO where visa has been granted from expiry date of initial visa.
I have an appointment at Glasgow PEO this week and if I get answers to these questions that will be a big help to me.

Thanks
Muhammad

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1 General Migrant
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 10 Dec 2012
3. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 03 Feb 2012
4. Date of expiry of the new visa : 03 Feb 2016 (Valid from 10 Dec 2012)
5. Payment mode : Debit Card
6. Name of PEO Applied : Croydon
7. BRP Card recieved: 12 Dec 2012

It was very quick and smooth, went in at 8 am was out by 10 am.
Will not go into the step-by-step detail as it is the same as what others have already posted.
The case worker asked for all the documents and then told to wait, after 45 mins he told that the visa has been approved and issued for 3 years.
My advice, give as much proof as possible for Income and Taxes paid and your application will be quick and smooth. All the best people.

I had a appointment @9:25, but i reached around 8:40.
After security check they allowed me to sit inside.

1) Interview with CW
It was a British lady, she just checked my 12 months payslips and calculated the total value in her calculator, even she didnt check with my bank stmt, whether its correct or not ( but i submitted all original docs with exact value on both payslip & Bank stmt).then she asked me to show the marriage certificate & my daughter Birth certifacate and she collected the photocopies of my passport , Bank stmt & payslip. ( except my app form). Finally she asked to make the payment & do for Bio- metric.

2) Payment via Debit card
Thank god it went smooth without any trouble :)

3) BioMetric
i spent lot of time here, becoz my 10 months old baby :(

4) security person asked to come back after 2 hrs to get the result.

5) After 2 hrs , security return'd all the original docs. He said , "my visa got approved :) for another 3 years and they will be sending the brp with 7 working day."

Thanks a lot for all the members in this forum and you guys helped me a lot while completing the entire process.

Then he asked for bank statement which are already give to him set of attachment. Then he returned back all of my document to me and ask to me wait.

Then I don't what happened was called on customer service desk and they asked to provide all document in folder and wait I did that waited for 2 hours .

My number was called again the said the application is approved with originals back.

Biometric was done before in the first 1 hour where they asked me to sign on the declaration .

10. BRP Received: 09/01/2013 - missed delivery, received Main applicant and dependent BRP's separately on 11/01/13 & 23/01/13 respctly.

I had a good experience, overall each staff I interacted with was very polite.

Photo: I had not carried any photographs as there is a photobooth which is quite similar to the ones placed in ASDA or Wilki. Would suggest people to carry photographs rather than clicking there, as you might miss the queue or might need exact cash 5 quids.

Degree Certificate: I had proven qualifications in initial application, though I was asked whether I have original certificates, which I did not carry but was not an issue.

I would advice applicants not to go too early to avoid standing in cold.
Standing from 7am and getting visa by 12 is as good as going there at 10am and getting visa by 3pm :)

BIG THANKS to everyone in this forum for all the assistance and guidance.

I tried a lot to get online appointment but unsuccessful. Later approached to OSIC solicitor and got appointment in 2 days. It is worthwhile to spend additional Solicitor fee instead of waiting for 4-5 months by post application and restricting your travel.

1. Current vignette : Tier 1 General
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 07 January 2013
3. Number of dependants: 3
4. Employment: Self Employment (Director of Limited Company)
5. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 15 January 2013

7. Payment mode : Debit Card
8. Name of PEO Applied : Croydon

10. BRP Received: 9th January 2012 (4:00pm).

My overall impression is that the staff are well behaved considering the load of work (number of people been attended to) before them.

I eventually got my appointment through a Lawyer after several days of trying night and day to get appointment without success online. The appointment came at very short notice. I was informed of it on Friday afternoon by the Lawyer and got the SMS on Saturday from UKBA.

My appointment was for 10:40am. I entered the Lunar building by 10:05. Pass through security checks, pass through the first counter where a number was assigned to me. I then went for the payment. I was called to one of the counters shortly after the payment, the lady that attended to me at the counter spent about 15mins. She collected all my document cross check my passport and made some entry on her computer. Everything was returned to me after about 15min with the lady. By 11:45am I was called for biometrics.

I was called after the biometrics at about 12:30 to submit all my application forms (with dependants) and documents including the photocopy of the original documents at the customer service counter. I did not hear anything about my case till 3:45pm when I was called that it was fine and my original document was returned.

Between 12:30 and 3:45pm I went to ask about my application twice but all I was told is that it is in progress. I was not interviewed by any case worker.

I went with the following supporting documents.
i Personal bank statement
ii Business bank statement
iii Certificate of incorporation
iv Letter of UTR from HRMC
v Payslips
vi Dividend Vouchers
vii Accountant letter
viii Business Account prepared by accountant
viii Invoices generated during the period I was claiming
ix Invoices Summary table prepared by accountant
x Copy of accountant registration certificate

I will advise people finding it difficult to book appointment to use Lawyer though it is unnecessary additional cost but the postal application is taking too long. If you are going with children please make adequate preparation for their food and snacks you may be there for a very long time like myself. (over 5 and half hours)

I thank God and I really appreciate help I received by reading experience on this forum

1 Main Applicant + 2 Dependants. Here are the events:

Appointment Time: 09:45

09:00: Arrived at the PEO
09:05: Security Completed
09:07: Ticket Number given
09:10: Payment Completed on first floor
09:12: Was called to the counter on the same floor. The lady at the counter asked for the application forms, passports, payment receipts and photos. She looked at them seriously for 10 mins while she scanned the photos and seemed to have entered some details on the computer. All along she had some strange expressions. Returned everything and asked to wait near biometrics.
09:25: Was called to another counter on the same floor. Asked for the same things as the previous lady. He scanned the photos and then typed the passport number on the computer only to put some strange expressions - now those expressions worried me. After about 5 minutes, he told me that for some reason my case was not registered by the lady who called me earlier. Nevertheless he said to go to biometrics and he will do the needful for the case to be registered. After biometrics he asked me to stay on the same floor.
09:40: Called for biometrics.
09:45: Completed Biometrics and started to wait for the next call to the counter.
11:15: Was called to the counter. I was ready with all the documents - All she asked was ticket number and asked to go to the second floor.
11:20: As soon as we went to the 2nd floor, The 2nd counter had my ticket number flashing. We did not wait for the number to be called and went straight to the counter. This officer asked for Applications, photos and passports. He checked for a few details on the application with the details on passports. Went straight to the earnings section and asked for bank statements and pay slips. Asked if I also had copies of them - I said yes and gave the copies. He asked if I had passport copies - gave the copies. By 11:27, he asked us to wait for 45 mins - 1 hour while he processes the application. I asked if he needed any other docs - I took lots of other docs. He said these are more than enough for him to process the application.
12:13: He called us and said the application is successful.

12:25: We were out of the building.

hello all,

this is our experience. we applied for our Tier 1 extension. husband is main applicant and me and daughter 2 dependents. he was employed + self employed.

we entered around 8.30 am. appointment was at 9. there were the usual mentioned security checks. we were asked to register at one counter where a token number was given. about in half an hour, our number was called. at this counter the lady took our application ckecked if it was complete, asked if the photos were recent and generally chatted on how cold it was. staff were generally polite and nice. she asked any supporting documents and we submitted the rest of the stuff. and she asked for set of copies. she then asked us to wait and that she will pass all of it to the caseworker who would call us if required. Around 10.30 am, our number was called for biometrics.

From that time on it was a never ending wait. in between I did see through the see-through glass a lady caseworker pick our file and go to her desk. Nothing for a long time, my 4 yr old daughter also was bored of everything she could think of doing...and was asking to go home just then at 1 pm we were called finally. proceeding to the window to expect some basic questioning as others before us were still in conversation with their respective caseworkers at other 2 window, we sat down .

She just smiled and yes...how r u ...to us all.and said ' Everything is ok with your application' and gave us the approval letter and informed as to wait for the BRP through post. In at 8.30 am we finally left the building at 1pm happy and relaxed, by the grace of ALLAH.

A small advice to parents going in with younger children, please take some activity stuff like colouring book etc and snacks and stuff for your kids, as they can really get bored, esp cause mobiles phone also will be switched off. In fact there were many families with children that day that I thought they could have had another TV on a side running cartoons for children  .Thats all. thanking the forum, for all valuable tips I have read here. It really helped. Moderators do a great job with this forum. thank you . :) :) :) :)

Arrived at 11:55. Went straight through - no queue. Registered and went to the first floor. Processed payment and waited 15 minutes for someone to take more registration information. Sent upstairs to get photo and biometrics. Then waited about 2 hours to be called up. Gave all paperwork. Waited approximately 1-1.5 hours and got the decision later. Received biometric card today.

It was pretty painless. You can use your laptop and get some work done if you wish.

Thanks for everyone on the forum - help is priceless especially the tricks to book the appointment online - that alone saved me £

PEO Appointment in Cardiff

Post by siva81 » Mon Jan 14, 2013 11:37 am

10. BRP Received on: still waiting

Here is my experience in cardiff PEO. I have got appointment at 10 AM , I drove from London on same day morning. Security allowed me to get into PEO office around 9 AM. No tokens has issued , in 5 minutes they have asked me to a person in one of the counter. Submitted all of documents.
1 Filled application
2 12 months payslips
3 12 month bank statements
4 PBS points calculator form
5 Letter from employer.

As I have got appointment for 1 person while searching for PEO appointment , I did not carry my wife application with me.

The lady in counter has asked me why you are applying single . I have explained her I did not get appointment when I put number of dependents is 1 while searching for appointment. She said she is happy to process my wife application as well if I have all documents ready. But unfortunately I did not have all documents for my wife to submit her application. She said , O.K , you can apply later for my wife.

Once they took all my documents , they have asked me wait for some time . In next 5-10 mins , they took my biometrics and asked me to go out and said caseworker will call you in 2 hours . So , I left PEO to city center at 9:30.

Case worker has called me on my mobile at 12:30 and asked me to come around 1 PM.

When I have met Case worker at 1 PM , she said , she has approved my extension. But she is wrong while calculating my salary for 12 months , she missed one month salary and awarded me 40 points . I have informed her about wrong calculation . She realized , she took back approval letter and went inside came with new approval letter.

Case worker explained me that my new visa will grant for next 2 year.

Case worker who looked into my case is friendly and listened to me.

I have checked all my documents and left PEO around 1:20 PM .

Waiting for my BRP.

Thanks,
S R

Here is my experience in Croydon PEO:-
------------------------------------------

I got appointment at 8:55 AM on 10-Jan , I travelled from Edinburgh to Croydon on day before my appointment.

I have my Lloyds TSB bank account for my previous earnings (sal+dividends)proof and HSBC account for my funds proof which i was maintaining funds from past 3 months.

I got my HSBC statements fine but for previous earnings when i requested (claiming period from 01-jan-2012 to 31-nov-2012)my Lloyds bank sent statements from 31-oct-2011 to 22-oct-2012..so i was missing from 22-oct-2012 to 31-nov-12 statements to show my october salary and dividends taken in november.

I asked ccare dept to send but they said it will take 7 to 10 working days and then i visited couple of branches here in edinburgh they are giving only on plain paper printing the statements with a branch/bank official stamp on it.

I was concerned that these that will they accepted or not by croydon peo..

On the day before in croydon i visited lloydstsb bank branch in 'whitgift center' just near to PEO and they know exactly what peo guys accepts..so they given me on their headed papers with their official stamp on the first page.

On the day of appointment:-
----------------------------

Security allowed me to get into PEO office around 8 AM.Went to counter where a gentle man checked all our applications and issued a token number.

And after that went to second floor to pay my visa fee :( (total 4500 gbp omg!)through my debit card before paying the amount i called to bank again to makesure payment go smoothly.

After payment i have been asked to go to some other counter where all of our passports and applications been verified. This lady took around 30 mins to verify the passports as we have total 4 people.

Then went to give biometrics and here we faced bit problem with our younger kid (2+yrs) as he is not intrested to show his face to camera and he was crying then 3to4 officers came with some toys and finally they able to take a picture of my kid.:)

Once we waited around 10 mins after biometrics we have been called to see our case worker, she is very nice and she just asked our forms, passports and then bank statements etc..
She didnot asked specific to any document ...
I submitted her below documents:-
------------------------------------

1 Filled applications ( i carried couple of blank forms as a backup )
2 10 months payslips
3 10 month bank statements for previous earnings
4 Dividend vouchers
5 3 months bank statements for my maintainance funds proof as i have this in my another account.
5 Letter from my accountant confirming my salary + dividends break down and also confirming my earnings.
6 my PG certificate
7 Unaudited Financial statements of my ltd company given by my accountant
8 Business bank statements (to show here salary+dividends take and payments to HMRC like paye,ni and vat etc..)
9 passports
10 covering letter from my side
11.all the photo copies of above documents
12. photographs for my self and my depandants

I have pasted a yellow 'post -it' on bank statements clearly explaining to see the jan salry go t page no x and for feb salary go to page noxx and for dividends 1 see page no x...etc..
to make sure case worker wont spend much time to find my claiming details in bank statements...

I carried below documents as a supporting but not given/not asked by case worker:-
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) previous year's p60
2) vat submission receipts
3) invoices raised to my client
4) contract agreements with my agency
5) proof for self assesment tax return submission
5) my dependant's NHS Registration letters and my wife's electoral registration letter (this is to make sure we are all living in the same address)
6) copy of accountant registration certificate (to proove he is a registered charterd accountant)

After a hr my case worker called me and confirmed that she is happy to extend our visa then i mentioned thanks to here and collected the approval letters and all my documents but i forgot to ask about my new visa end date...she immediately went for coffe break about 30 mins and i waited till she returns then i asked her about my new visa end date she confirmed that i got visa till 26-feb-2015 :)

I was bit concerned about my new visa end date as i have applied morethan 30 days before so i thought i may get it from the date of my application but i got from my current expiry date luckily.....

Sorry for the long post guys am very intrested and like to share all my exp with peo appointment...

all the best

Our PEO experience

Here is our experience,

Appointment time was at 11am, after security check we were allowed inside at 10.30 to a counter and a person checked the application form and passports and assigned a ticket number.

Went to first floor for the payment, it just took 10mins and was successful, then we were asked to wait in the waiting area.

After an hour, our number was called, went to that counter and we were asked to give the application forms, photos, passports and the payment receipt, it took around 15mins to verify in the system, then again asked to wait for the biometrics.

After an hour of waiting we were called for the biometrics, it just took 15mins. Again waited for 30mins, then we were asked to go to the second floor to submit the supporting documents, they are
1. Payslips for 12months (from Dec 2011 to Nov 2012)
2. Letter from the employer showing the salary details (optional)
3. Bank statements for salary credit (Barclays)
4. Bank statement for fund maintenance (Barclays again but a different account)
5. PG certificate (he did not need it, so returned it)
6. PBS summary sheet (he did not need it, so returned it)

After taking the docs. from us, he said that it will take an hour and a half to process, and asked us to wait until our number to be called again. It was around 2 pm, so we went out for lunch and came back around 2.40 pm. Our number was called by the case worker at 3.30 and he said that our application was successful :) and it was ready at 2.30 pm itself, he called our ticket number at that time, since we were not available (went out for lunch), he kept our papers aside and moved on to the next case it seems. He gave us a paper in which the points claimed and granted were mentioned, but there was a mistake in the letter (Points claimed for degree was 35 but in the letter it was mentioned as 30), we pointed it out, he apologised and corrected it. We came out around 4pm.

Overall, it was a good experience and the case worker was very polite and friendly.

Thank you for reading our experience, also we would like thank everyone who shared their experience, it really helped a lot.

PEO Experience - 18th of Jan

Post by risingmoon19 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 7:07 pm

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1 (G)
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 18-Jan-2012
3. Number of dependants: 2
4. Employment: Salaried employment + Self Employment
5. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 31-Jan-2013
6. Date of expiry of the new visa : NA
7. Payment mode : Debit Card
8. Name of PEO Applied : Croydon
9: Approval letter: Given on the same day after 1.5 hours waiting
10. BRP Received on: still waiting

Appointment was at 10:00 AM but we entered in the building around 9:15 AM. Security check and number was allotted on the ground floor and then we were asked to proceed to first floor for payment, passport check and bio-metrics. All was done by 10:30AM. Then we waited for about 10 mins before being called to second floor. Here once again waited for about 10 mins and then asked to submit the documents to counter. They took all the documents and then asked us to wait. The guy who took the documents wasn't dealing with the case but I did manage to find the counter on which my case was being dealt and decide to sit in front of that counter. After one hour, cw called us and said, "Everything was fine with your case and I have extended your visa till 2016. You will receive your BRP in post within 5-7 working days and you can go home now".

I submitted the following documents:

1. 12 month Payslips.
2. 15 Months Bank statements
3. Letter from employer detailing my Gross and Net
4. Invoices for my self employment work
5. Accountant Letter
6. Class 2 NI Bill
7. HMRC Registration
8. Accountant ACCA registration proof
9. Contract with the clients
10. Payment declaration form
11. Tenancy Agreement
12. Utility Bills

Thanks to Allah and also all the help I received on this forum

Glasgow PEO booking possible?

Post by veerabchv » Sun Jan 20, 2013 10:40 pm

Hi There,

Am trying to extend my Tier 1 General visa in Glasgow using same day service.

In my earnings I have Dividends (from Ltd Company) + salary from same company.

But few people saying Glasgow not able to deal with this kind of application for some reason. Only Croyden / Liverpool can deal with these kind of applications.

So, please anyone please confirm is this true or not. My visa expires on March 7 /13.

Many Thanks
Veer

Over all experience was good. Case worker took exactly 45 mins to confirm the extension.

Suggestion:

Keep your documentation simple, keep it short and crisp. Seen few people walked in with huge files and bunch of documents it was only increasing the burden on the CW and taking more time. He/she calls them to tell them these are all not required and you can see they are frustrated when they get these unnecessary documents. All the best!

Thanks to each and every one who posted their experiences. That really helped.

To start with, I agree with what ch_pavan said above. Its much easier if you follow the list of documents required on the UKBA website and listed within the application form, rather than listening to what people say. I saw so many people with big piles of documents which were not required.

Appointment was at 9:25, arrived there at 9:05. Stayed the night at the Premium Inn across the road, so was quite convenient.

Small waiting area which gets filled up quickly. Was called into see caseworker at 9:45. Took about 10-15 minutes. She asked for completed application form, dependants application form, payslips, corresponding bank statements showing payments, marriage certificate and statements for maintenance.

She only required photocopies of the supporting documents, not of the application form itself.

At around 10:40 completed barometric. Was asked to come back in an hour and a half. At 12:50 documents were returned, and our application approved.

Glasgow won't accept self-employed applications. It's clearly stated on the UKBA website.
