Director of LTD company

I ticked emplyed but case worker said owner so self employed , i dint agree/disagree

she said salary + dividend : i said yes and she said self employed she needs to take it to her senior as a normal case worker cant make decision on self-employed

She was a very nice lady , she said am asking all this as my senior will ask me so it makes it easy for me

i had highlighted all salary and dividend credits so we went thru it

then handed business : statements/incorporation/vat registration/accounts

she then searched for accountants details on her comp

asked me what exactly was business doing

then gave her entire photocopy bunch

she came back after 15 minutes and then kept on entering some stuff on her compy

Finally called at 4.45 and said the magic words

"we have approved your application"

documents i gave:

Form
photos
personal bnk statements
salary slip
Div voucher
UTR letter
p60

Accountants summary
Business BNK statement
incorp cert
VAT cert

Photocopies all supp docs

Good luck to others and thx to seniors

Hi Everyone

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1 General
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 18/06/2012
3. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 03/07/2012
4. Date of expiry of the new visa : 03/07/2015(Confirmed by the case worker)
5. Payment mode : Visa Debit Card
6. Name of PEO Applied : Cardiff

My appointment was at 8.30 AM. Reached there at 7.50(First Person :) ) They haven't opened the gates yet. At sharp 08:00AM, they opened the door, went through the security check (took only 5 mins), then I went directly to the counter. They asked for my application form, photos and passport first. Explained me the procedure that they will take the payment from debit card through online transaction with the details given on the application form and there is no need for me to give the debit card. Then she explained that, after submitting documents, i should wait to give the biometrics. Once that is done, i can leave for 3 hours, they will call me on my mobile phone when the decision is taken. I submitted the rest of the documents to her. She asked questions about my travel plans, employed or self employed(I was employed. Self employed/Director of company takes longer time in Cardiff PEO). This was at 08:30. I waited for 10 more minutes for biometrics. They called me for biometrics. Once this was done, They asked me to leave and come back once I receive the call from them about my decision. I left the building at 09:00AM. Roamed around nearby and Got a call at 10:30AM. The case worker told me that he has concluded my case and asked me to come back. I went in at 10:40, The same case worker called me to a booth and told me that my extension has been approved. Told me the new expiry date, gave my original documents back with a letter confirming my extension and explained that I will receive my biometric resident permit(BRP Card) within 7 working days. He asked me to make sure someone else is there to receive it, incase I am not available. He asked me to authorise the person who will be collecting on my behalf.

The following are the documents I submitted
Application form
Points Calculator summary sheet
2 photographs with my full name written on back
Passport
12 month payslip
12 month bank statement(Salary credit highlighted)
3 months bank statement (For maintenance)

All my documents were original.

My overall experience was very fantastic and satisfactory. The service was quick. Also I noticed that there were no rush at the PEO. Hardly 10 people were there, in the 4 hours i was there. The staff were very friendly.

NOTE : The CARDIFF PEO doesnot accept Cash payment anymore from 02/08/2012

Tier 1 visa renewal - PEO Glasgow Experience -28th May

bsudhir wrote:Hi

Wanted to share my experience at PEO Glasgow on 28th May.

Applied for Tier1 renewal for myself and dependents wife and son.

Reached Glasgow PEO at 9 am for 9:30 am appointment. After security got a token number and waiting for my turn. There were around 10 counters but there were only 2 people seeking appointment. I was called at 9:20 am and the case worked asked for all documents. He said he will call me after 15 mins. He called me after 10 mins and said all my documents are fine and asked me to proceed to Photo and fingerprinting. We finished this in 10 mins and were waiting. We got a call from Case worked at 10 AM saying he is satisfied with my documents and giving me further leave to remain.

I have given debit card number for payment but unfortunatley it did not go through. I called HSBC previous week and asked them to allow me to pay £3400 pounds(fees for myself and 2 dependents) they agreed and told me i can do the payment but it did not go through :-). The case worked asked me to give another card number and i gave different Credit Card and it worked.

At 11 AM the Case worker called me and said the payment went through but the IT systems are down and asked me to come around 2 PM.

I went out into glasgow city for lunch and came back at 2PM. I was called by the Cae worker and was told the IT systems are down and told me i may or may not come again to Glasogw to give finderprints if the systems have not captured them today. He gave me back all documents,Passports and the extension of Leave to remain letter. He gave me leave to remain from 28th May for 2 years. He told me he will call me next day and inform the status.

I went back to London the same night and got a call from the Case worker the next day. He told me my fingerprints were captured i need not come to Glasgow again. He said BRP will be sent in 7 working days.

After 5 days the courier company left a letter saying we were not there and asked us to give another date/time to deliver the BRP. I feel the courier company have not come at the first instance itself as i was at home all day.

Finally we received the BRP after 2 days.

The PEO at Glasgow were very friendly and i had a nice experience.

Hi, I just came from my appointment which was at 8:00am this morning, I reached Lunar house by 7:40 and they let me in immediately as people started coming in..Payment was done on first floor and waited 15mins for Biometric to be done. I was ready for the CW by 8:20 and they did start calling people until 9:00am.

At 9:05 Case Worker called me to desk 53 (I was really happy cos' 53 is my lucky number! ). She said she had a meeting at 10 so she would try to give decision before 10 but after learning that I have a Limited Company she said Limited Company approvals will be done by their Senior officers so she asked me to comeback at 12:45. As I don't have anything else to do, I just stayed in. But the CW came back from meeting early and called me at 11.20am and said that my Extension has been approved and will receive my Biometric in post. She was very lovely and polite.

I thank everyone in this forum for their help.

She took the passports and verified 'something' on their system and printed all our details.

Showed salary slips wth 12 stmnts. I had put the cover letter, sponsor letter, and the earnings explanation.
She matched the pay against the circled amng in my stmnts.
Started apreciating for my neat and clean effots that made her life easy.
Then asked for fund maintenance, again clearly described cover letter wth letter from bank wth statements made her happy and she was smiling all way and started talking about the history of birmingham and was asking how is banks doing these days..
She then took prints of my passports and said those golden words....
She asked us to proceed to counter 6 for the payments. Was fortunate that the payment went thru wth hiccups.

CW was Asian & very talented guy and he knows much everything about UKBA & HMRC policies (So be careful and be prepare in advance),
He started rapid fire question almost 30 mins.
I gave him answer for all his questions and finally he satisfied with my all answers.
After 30- min we started talking about Maharashtra (Indian State) history.
Finally, he told me, where do I want my BRP Posted?
Sigh of relief……

Then he asked me to pay the fess on counter 6.
Lady on counter 6 also friendly and we started talking about my Job.
I paid £3600 fees (1+2 dependant) by Barclays Debit Card.

Finally they asked us to wait and after 2min One nice and professional Lady called us for Biometric and she started friendly conversation about daily life. After completion of process she asked us to come back after 2 hours for Documents and Visa Approved Letter.

We went outside for lunch and back after 2 hours, Security Counter guy asked my token number and returned my documents back but Security guy told me because of IT server issue they couldn’t produce official format approved letter, but my Case worked typed the letter on UKBA Stationary with his sign and clearly mention about 3 years extension with visa expiry date.

Overall Fantastic experience and I am giving 10/10 to Solihull PEO for their friendly, professional nature.

Guys if you have any question regarding extension feel free to ask, I will try my level best to answer your query.

submitted all my documents to case worker at 11:00 AM and they said that it will take 3 hours to process and asked me come after 3 hours..finally they called me at 3.00 PM and they said that since IT systems are down we will send you the approval letter and biometric cards through post within 2 to 3 working days. I asked them twice whether my visa got approved or not. they said that everything is fine and we will send you the letter by post. Still I am confusing whether my visa got approved or not.

Hi Members,
I need your help, I applied for Tier 1 General Extension on 4th July at PEO Croydon. My application was submitted (system down) and I was told that I will be contacted my phone if any further information will be required. Today on 11th July i received a letter through normal post stating that i need to send the following documents or my application might be refused.
1. Accountant's letter ( Even though i did provide that)
2. Official tax documents ( i don't have this as I have appled to HMRC for self assessment but still in progress)
3. Profit & loss accounts ( i don't have this as well)

To explain I worked as a director of a limited company and drew salary and dividends from that company. I sent my personal bank statements, salary slips/ dividends and accountants letter as proof to UKBA. Please guide what to do as i don't have much time to respond before a decion is made on my application

Fantastic Experience (Solihull PEO) on 11/07/12

Devil81 wrote:Hi Guys,

My appointment was at 10.00AM. Reached PEO @ 09.15AM.
I went inside & reception guy asked me my passport & visa application form to check correct version (04/12) of application form.
After normal security check, they gave me a token number (to be retained by us until we get the approval letter & our documents back)

After 10mins at 9.30am, they called my token number & told me to proceed to counter No:5.

CW lady asked me to handover my passport, application form & photos. She went through my application form & did some checks on her system with my passport. Then she asked me whether I am employed / self employed. I said im employed since I am working as a contractor (PAYE through an Umbrella company) she was convinced. Asked me my earnings details. I handed over the following documents
Payslips
Bank statements
Letter from Employer
Payment summary sheets

Verified all the documents in 15 mins. In between she asked me about my job profile & what I actually do.

Then I was asked to handover PBS summary sheet & for maintenance funds my same bank statements were used which were already verified by her for earnings.
CW lady asked photocopies of all of the above docs for their records. Fortunately I carried two sets.
Everything was done by 10.20 am & those golden words uttered “Your visa is approved & you may go to counter no. 6 for payment”.

Payment was done with no holds-up & went fine. It was done by Barclays debit card.
Phoned Barclays customer care a day before but they said they normally don’t hold payments if it's done by a debit card.

After payment I was told to wait for Biometrics. 10 mins wait & was called for Biometrics. The guy told the system is slow & it may take some time so please bear with us.
Fortunately it went fine without any hiccups. Biometrics captured & everything was done by 10.45am & was told to turn up 12.30 pm to collect my original documents & approval letter.

Finally I went @ 12.15am showed my token at the reception & the guy handed over my original documents & visa approval letter.

I checked all my documents & the letter. However the letter doesn’t say anything about my
Visa issue & expiry date. Out of curiosity I checked with reception guy he said it will be mentioned on your BRP & showed me the sample BRP.

Overall amazing experience and I would give 9/10 to Solihull PEO for their friendly & professional nature. Staff is polite & helpful. Im not sure about other PEO’s but whatever info/exp. I gathered from Imm. Boards I can conclude that Solihull is better off than Croydon, Sheffield & Cardiff. Advise would be try to book app. @ Solihull, Birmingham.

Visa expiry date : 16-08-2012
New Visa start date : Not known
New visa expiry date : Not known
Status : Awaiting BRP

For any queries just give me a shout !!!!

Thanks for reading patiently.

Croydon PEO Experience: Approved With UK + Overseas Earning

kpr wrote:First and foremost, I would like to thank to this forum, its active members for helping. It really is helped me in filling my application correctly.
Also, Reading through the previous people PEO office experiences helped me in getting mistakes corrected in my approval letter which are made by my case worker.

Appointment Date Time: 13-Jul-2012, 10:15AM
Applied for : Leave to Remain
Current Visa expiry Date: 8-8-2012
BRP: Yet to be received.

09:45AM - Reached the Lunar House, Joined the Security Check queue
09:55AM - Security Cleared
Security check is same as in the airport
Note: Clear your pockets, watch, belt, take off the jacket/sweater. You have to put them in a box for security scan. If you keep them ready, you can move faster to the next queue.

10:00AM - Verified the Appointment reference number and sent to the
queue for Ticket Number

10:30AM - Verified the pass port, Application, stamped on two pages in the
application. Gave the ticket number . It just took 2min. Asked
me to go to payment counter 1st floor.
This queue took longer time as there is only one counter is open when I am in the queue.

Note: Please have your passport and Application ( No other documents ) ready in hand before reaching this counter. I have seen some people are standing at the counter and searching for passport and application. It is simply wasting the time of the Home Office workers and letting people in the queue to stand for longer.

One more important thing is, People in the queue speaking in regional languages (Malayalam, Tamil,... etc) over phone while standing in the queue. Better to avoid these habits at least on this day.
At least after coming to this country we should follow this country culture. You can listen to music, use your iPad, etc...(Every thing is allowed).

10:32AM: Made the payment by Bankers Draft. Counter is empty.
Just 2 min, done. Asked to go to waiting area
Note: Have the payments page (i.e. Page 7) in the application, payment (draft, card) ready in your hand before you reach the payment counter.

10:45AM: Called my ticket number. In this counter, a lady has verified the passport, application, payment slip. I have given my office address as correspondence address (B22 in page 13). She has asked to which address the documents to be sent. I have confirmed it as office address. She is nice. Entered some data into their system.
It is done in 5min.

10:50AM: Went to 2nd floor for Bio metrics waiting area.
11:15AM: Called my ticket number for Bio metrics.
Asked for Payment slip, passport
Taken finger prints and photo
Gave an application, she is reading out application, asked me to
fill my previous Bio Metric location (IND-India in my case), asked
for declaration sign.
Note: Wait for him/her to read out the each section of application, don't be rush on your own. Also sketch pen is given to fill in this application, we have to ensure our sign fits within the given box, should not touch or cross the edges of the box.

11:25AM: Waiting for my ticket number to be called by case worker.

11:40AM: Case worker called my ticket number.
Asked me, did I get the photo copies of supporting docs
As I have taken photo copies with me, I said yes

Asked employed or self employed.
Answered as 'Employed'
Collected the documents in the following sequence
Passport original and photo copy
Application
Payment slip, Ticket number slip
Earnings Proof: Payslips original and photo copy
Earnings Proof: Bank statements and photo copy
Qualification Proof: my original degree certificate and photo copy
(not required, but she has asked for it, she seem to be new)
Maintenance funds: Bank statements and photo copy
( I used different account for this)

She has started reviewing my application:
I have previous earnings from overseas (India) and UK.
Question 1) are you paid in Rupees or Pounds?
I have mixed earnings, few months in Rupees (Overseas) and few Months in Pounds (UK). Answered it.
Question 2) Did I total both earnings?
Answered yes and I said it is there at bottom of the page where I entered the total earnings
Question 3) you are employed, why did you select dividend vouchers in section J8 Page 37?
I answered, I did not select dividend vouchers.
Through out the application, check boxes are on the right hand side.
She is incorrectly reading it,
Payslips and Dividend vouchers are in the same line in the application.
She is considering left check box which is coming as dividend vochers for her.

During this processing, she is writing many things on the application, folding some pages for book marking.

She has returned the pages 1-6 and page 8 from my application.

This screening process took 15 min.

She has asked me come at 2:00PM and sit some where near to the counter where she can see me.

I have submitted PBS Calculator output and covering letter and left.

I went to whitgift center, It is big shopping mall.

1:45PM- I came back to Lunar house, sitting near my case worker counter.
she has closed window screen and processing
my application. Other case workers are processing applications
without closing window screens

2:00PM passed, still she is processing my application
she is new, that is for sure. I am doubting she may do mistakes which may affect my approval.

2:30PM: She called. Gave my original documents back and asked me to verify them. Again she took my passport back. I have verified and put them into my folder. She has also returned one photograph which I have submitted with application. She did not tell the result. She is moving here and there.
Yes, she made me bit tensed.
I have asked her, what is the result. She said, wait I will tell.

2:45PM: She said my application is successful, leave is granted till Aug-2014. Vignette is replaced with BRP card. I will get it in 4-7 working days. She gave me the approval letter and passport. Told me, go through it and ask if I have any questions. She went some where.
I am relieved
I was reading the approval letter, point for my age are empty.
She is back. I asked her about the points for my age. Don't worry your application is cleared. I have insisted for the points awarded for the age. She have taken approval letter back and printed another letter, signed and gave me.
Again I was reading the approval letter. Case Reference number is not provided. I have asked her for the case ref number. She said, not required , you can use your payment ref number. I have insisted for the case ref number. She said "Sir, that is all the information we give". I said ok.

I have come to one other person who has got approval letter, requested him to show me his approval letter. On his letter he has got case ref number. Then I went to customer service desk and asked for case ref number. He said ask the case worker, she will print for you. I said she is not providing. He asked is it ok to write( manual) case ref number on the approval letter, I said yes, he took my ref letter and went to my case worker got case ref number written on it.

I left lunar house at 3:15PM.

My application took longer time as my case worker seems to be new and not aware of all the things clear.

As per my observation, usual processing times are 1 to 1.5 hours per one application ( today there are no IT issues good)

Please let me know if any body has queries, I am happy to help for my best.

Once again, Many thanks to this forum.

Final Note: Be brave to question any body in the Home office as per the guidelines of the application. We are paying for it, we have the right to ask as long as we are following the application guidance correctly. I have seen one lady applicant boldly defending case worker regarding maintenance funds ( I think), case worker agreed finally. Case workers are employees just like us. People are made to make mistakes, Case workers are no exception to that. I would say British origin case workers are doing their job good and faster as per my observation for one day in Home Office.

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 19 July 2012
3. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 11 Aug 2012
4. Date of expiry of the new visa : 11 Aug 2014
5. Payment mode : Visa Debit card
6. Name of PEO Applied : Croydon

Appointment was at 8:45am, arrived half an hour earlier and went through security check in 5 minutes.
Counter on ground floor asked for appointment letter and application form and gave me a token number.
Made payment on first floor at 8:30am.
My number was called while making the payment. Went to a counter on the same floor, the lady asked for the number ticket, receipt, passport, photos and application form. She went through the personal information part on the form and in the computer, gave me everything back and told me to do biometrics and go to second floor.
Finished biometrics at 9am, and my number was called at about 9:10am.

I submitted letter from employer, 12 months’ pay slips(signed but not stamped, as the company doesn’t have one. That’s why I got a letter as well) and bank statements as supporting evidences.
The case worker asked me for degree certificate but then realized it’s not necessary for extension.
Waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes until the case worker called my number at about 10:50am, saying “everything is fine”. She handed me a paper with name, DOB, nationality, expiry date of the extension, etc…asked me to check and sign.
Got all my documents back(except the employment letter) with the approve letter and left Lunar house at 11am.

Many thanks to this forum for the useful information provided for both the initial application three years ago and the extension, and wish everyone good luck.

Employed - submitted payslips, employer letter and bank statements.

After a long wait to see case worker, application was processed fairly quickly. Case was straightforward with no self employment etc.

Something I noted was they seemed to be overstaffed in all areas except case workers. Plenty of staff about in security or directing people through the building.

 Any doubts - they ask a question, so be around - dont bother them - keep quite & be a good boy/girl :)

Name of PEO Applied: Sheffield
My Case: Self-employed only ( sole trader)

No of Applicants: 2 (Main + 1 dependent-wife)
Current vignette: Tier 1 General (3+2)
Date of PEO Appointment: 01 August 2012
Appointment was at 9 am
Date of expiry of current leave (visa): 23 Sep 2012
Date of expiry of the new visa: Not known yet (but I have requested from 24 Sep 2012 & case worker was also agreed)
Payment mode: Debit Card (1800+900)

Approval letter given on same day: No
further enquiries letter handed over: 11.50
Approval letter received on : 02 August 2012
BRP received: Not yet

Reached PEO: 8.30 & token given from reception
9.10 Called by admin staff to check application forms( she has taken 2 application forms & Passport only) & ask me to make payment)

Finished Biometrics: 10.15

Called by Case worker: 11.00
He just ask me to give all supporting documents what I have for income proof only, I was surprised he didn't ask any single document for dependent (neither marriage certificate nor address proof, may be becoz we have married in UK & my wife has her 3rd extension with me as a dependent)
anyways my case worker clearly told me that such type of application i.e.(self employed) will take good few hours to decided however in an hour time will give you 90% overview what decision would likely to be... (sounds like I wouldn't get my decision on same day)

11.50 Case worker called me again and told me that 90% he is happy to grant all the points what I have claimed and returned all the originals and kept the passports with him for further enquiries need to be made therefore application has been passed to a team where these enquiries can be made ( as I was lucky that this team is based at Sheffield) therefore he assured me that he would have this report next day from enquiry team

03 August 2012 : I have received our passport back with approval letter dated 02august 2012 via royal mail next day special delivery

Wishing everyone all the best !!

Please note every experience is different & what is requested by the case worker completely depends on individual.

Many thanks for this forum & everyone's help
