Tier1 general dependent extension question

Hi,

My husaband is applying for tier 1 general dependent extension in the coming week. I have got British citizenship (through tier 1 general category last year). My question: is criminal record certificate needed for tier 1 general dependent? I have read the guidelines and it mentions only about tier 2 general.
