Hope this will help for people looking for cover letters. The below word template can be downloaded from this link. I used this for my postal application. This can be customized as per individual's need. For Employer Letter template check here.

Great job Chetanojha!!!
I was just going to say you that by this way we can overcome formatting issue. 8) What a coincidence!! Thanks for the letter, it would help many, and guide them about how to highlight important points.

Hi Chetan,

This is an excelent post. I got all my cover leters done in no much time. Just one thing, in "Earning" leter, if the earning currency is other that pounds, should we should we also show the equalant amount in pounds and amount with country multiplier in the same table.

Thanks

Why not? You can put conversion rate after table and convert your Gross/Net salary. I wouldn't recommend to put multiplier and conversion rate in each row as it will increase chances of calculation mistake. But you can also Add additional statement after table or perhaps last row of the table to explain the calculation using conversion rate + multiplier.

chetanojha, I think that is incomplete. That is, with reference to the dividends paid, there should be a further column, "Tax Credit", and the amount of that Tax Credit is one-ninth of the amount of the dividend paid.

The point is that for tax purposes, as regards dividends, the taxable gross amount is the total of the dividend paid and the Tax Credit. (Unless someone is into higher rate tax, the amount of the Tax Credit covers the tax liability on that income.)

You might also want to add a further column, for clarification, say "Gross Total", which would be a total of the gross Salary, the dividend, and the Tax Credit attached to that dividend.

Hi John,

The dividends mentioned in the letter is Net Dividends which corroborates with the amount in bank statement. I used the same yesterday for my ILR approval.I will though amend the template and upload it.

Thanks for the fantastic tempaltes.

I have made a mistake, can someone tell me if this is OK?

I draw salary and dividends from my limited company.

When I withdrew dividends, accountant told me 10,000 gross and some xyz tax component.

but i have transferred 10,000 completely!

what should I do ? Should I pay the xyz to govt? bank statement shows 10,000 credit

Should I ask for another dividend voucher with 10.000 as net and 10,000 + xyz as gross?

Please help

Get it as a separate thread...This is a sticky message and that should be for that purpose

@mubu

Can you post your question in separate thread? To and Fro replies from people will dilute collation of templates in this thread and its purpose.

Happy to reply to your query once posted as separate thread.

mubu, I don't think that is your mistake. Maybe confusing or simply wrong guidance from the accountant, to whom you should now speak.

The fact is, and it has been this way for many years, if a UK company declares a dividend, the shareholder(s) get that declared dividend ... plus a Tax Credit.

That is, a simple example, if X Co Ltd, which only has 2 shares in issue, both held by Mr X, declares a dividend of £5000 per share, Mr X will receive £10000 ... plus a Tax Credit of one-ninth of that amount, £1111.11.

It would be very wrong, on the above imagined facts, for Mr X to receive only £9000 plus £1000 Tax Credit.
