They lost.
I take the view that the judge was clearly correct to hold that ACCA professional qualifications are not eligible for points as "a UK recognised bachelor or postgraduate degree" under Table 10 or by virtue of the guidance.
I would therefore dismiss the appeals of Mr Syed and Mr Ahmed.

I am perplexed as to how this case got to the Court of Appeal with the arguments being put forward, they really were very weak.

Well, I don't think anyone can complain that the arguments that ACCA meets the rules for PSW (as it was) haven't been examined.

Just such a waste of time for so many people, for a case that I always thought was hopeless.

Hopefully people will accept this judgement and move on rather than pursuing ongoing appeals.

I thought this bit was interesting:
Unusually, the court has also received a document from non-parties, namely "Collective grounds of appeal" settled on behalf of, and signed by, a large number of applicants whose cases are similar or identical to those of Mr Syed and Mr Ahmed and have been stood out pending determination of the present appeals. That document has no formal status in the present appeals but it may be helpful to indicate that I can see nothing in it which adds materially to the submissions we have heard.

I had suspicion that you will post this. Lol Anyways you were always right but we have tried . You only advise us when it was too late all of us already applied and we couldnt do anything that time.
Another thing is i had enuff now and i am going to give up but i think some ppl still going to pursue this case further. Good luck to them ..

This topic was started on Feb 18th 2012 and PSW closed on April 6th 2012.

Greenie and I have said the same thing all along. ACCA does not meet the rules for PSW.

See also this topic started in 2011.

Haha You and greenie didnt have justification for those who got PSW on the basis of ACCA. My Point was that time and still now why the HO did not challenge any of them before. People were getting PSW on basis of ACCA since 2007 and none of the them were challenged by HO.. I am not saying judges decision was wrong but atleast they could mention the inadequate approach by HOme Office. Eight of us applied same time and 5 of them got PSW and 3 including me got refuse. I still hopeful that in SC they consider the issue of well econmic being in the country and legitimate exceptions even tho i am not pursuing this case further. Much appreciate your and Greenie Help. We should have listened to you that time lol.
One more thing come in my mind why the honorable Judges did not quote the plicy guidance paragraph of 53 where clearly stated the word Level?? they have quoted the rest paragraphs.
