Hii.. congrats.. when is your allocation date ? Is it today.

What's "allocation date"? I'm not sure, all I know is that my employer received my RCoS number today from home office.

I am looking forward to hearing the good news from other users. Today : 60 points and Tomorrow? 55?50?.. very curious..

Two junior doctors got their CoS today. Both shortage occupation, which was expected but at least we know the process has begun . Good luck to everyone, hoping this is our month!

I am in SOC code 2136 with 35k salary what is my points is it 150 or 35 points . I am bit confused please clarify. I am also waiting for the results. what would be chances for me this month and may month.

I dont want to sound blunt but they really don’t care about us or our situations. I don’t mean that in an angry/upset way but remember that as stressful as this situation is for us we’re all doing it voluntarily and the UK don’t have any responsibility to anyone that arent already citizens.

The only reason they’d ever change anything would be to help UK businesses, the NHS, etc with staffing. They don’t care about us personally.

This is true, to be honest after living in the UK for 3 years and comming back I believe the uk is already overpopulated and immigration is an issue.
Hence why things like restricted Cos exist.

One thing that makes me check the RCOS threads only so often is the level of know-it-allness and negativity about this. NOBODY knows the precise cut-off until the HO releases it. Even immigration lawyers can only guess.

Also for people clogging up the thread asking about their points - please refer to the charts using Google like anyone else. But still, that's not as bad as the amount of people who come in here huffing and puffing about what will or won't happen. Are you the government? Are you God?

Then be supportive and wait your turn. We are all in this together.

While I completely agree with you that the constant posts asking about points and their chances are highly annoying because the information is out there for anyone to find and as has been said a million times nobody has any idea what the cut off will be, you need to understand that there are people here who have had their employers applying for them since November/December - and in those cases you can understand the negativity or "huffing and puffing" as you call it. With all due respect this is only your second month applying - come back after you've been applying with the building uncertainty for 4 or 5 like some people here and see if you have the same attitude.

Yeah I agree with @Hopeful42. For those that keep asking what the chances are and whether their points would be accepted for that particular month - none of us can tell you, hence we are on this forum. If we did have an idea and knew what is happening, we wouldn't be here on this website.

I would assume the purpose of this forum is to share information that you have, share updates, or to even speculate which most of us are doing. I've been on this forum since Nov 2017 and in a similar situation as most of you but even today I have no idea what will happen next and by the looks of it (speculating), it doesn't look too promising as of yet. I was hoping for 50+ to have gotten through yesterday but the trend seems the same as past months.

Looking for some good news in the coming few days and requesting ppl to share any useful information they might come across.

I am just raise a query to clarify my points since I got rejected in feb 2018 applying with thesoc code 2136. I thought my point is 35 it is very low that's why I got rejected and informed my company not to apply on March since i am having very low points . later Looking at the documents I figured out soc code will get 135 points upfront . If it is true I would succeded in feb itself but I am not .


That's why I want to clarify cos is allocated based on any other criteria that I am not aware of.
And also I need to know what is my actual points , then only I will decide can and apply for May, if I am not succeeded in this month allocation also.

I am very much confused with my points that's why had a thought to clarify with others.

Have you talked to your employer and asked them what job title they listed in the RCOS application?

We can’t tell you whether your job would get the extra points under shortage occupation because not all titles in each SOC code qualify and we don’t know the specifics of your role. I’d be having a chat with your employer.

SOC stands for standard occupational classification and not shortage occupation category/code.

Please check the shortage occupation list below and see if your job is on the list.

Also from what I have read your CoS application needs to clearly state that it is being applied as a shortage occupation for you to benefit from gaining additional points. If your job is on the shortage occupation list you can ask the person who applied for your CoS whether he/she applied for it as a shortage occupation.


This is what it says for code 2136 for it to be classified as a shortage occupation:
Only the following jobs in this occupation code:

Senior developer employed by a qualifying company, where the job requires a person with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and demonstrable experience of having led a team.

The following jobs in visual effects and 2D/3D computer animation for the film, television or video games sectors:

software developer
shader writer
games designer
The following jobs in the electronics system industry:
driver developer
embedded communications engineer


Does the above apply to you?

Yes my job role is Senior Crm Software Developer role has been advertised on my company internal external websites and in the job portal as well . I am having 8 years of experience working for my employer past 4 years in a dependant visa now they are ready to sponsor me . But my HR was not releiving how they are applying if I rejected this month then I will defn have a chat with themand figure out whether they are not specifying the information promptly to the HO.

This behaviour you're describing is something that was frustrating a lot of us and it was discussed in last month's rcos thread, HOWEVER I've yet to see one post in this thread like that - if anything I've seen a bunch of posts of people reassuring others that are worried that they're a good chance.

With that in mind I'm not really sure what you are trying to achieve by making an account just to come in on the offensive (and frankly pretty rudely) now. It completely contradicts the positive and reassuring vibe you're preaching.

I am on Tier 2 ICT dependant visa and my employer has applied for RCOS (Third time in April) for me after doing proper RLMT. My dependant visa is valid till 13 April so we are going back to our home country and planning to come back when I will get the visa.
My company is asking me if I can work from my home country for them till I get my visa.
Wondering if it is possible to work from home country for UK employer for some time till I get my visa?
