Hello all, i have 43 points and keeping my hopes higher that it will get through in April. Any opinions.?
I was just wondering if rcos is allocated this month, how much time i will have before i can join?
My plan is, once rcos is allocated and once i receive VISA i will resign from my current employer in India.
Let me know the clarity on this if anyone have something. :(
I see a very good chance with 43 points in April.

RCoS - once it is alloted by Home Office, it is valid for 3 months for ur sponsor to assign it to you. And once assigned, u have 3 months to use it.

Say they got it and assign it to you immediately (after 15th approximately) and you are eligible to apply for VISA immediately (no cooling period restrictions) then in 10-15 working days you get your VISA.

Hi All,

In this month of April, has anybody got a request from HO for extra documents yet. Can you guys check from your HR. My points are 32 and my HR already got this request. Does this make any difference?

Can anyone explain what sort of extra documents required.

Looking at the previous month's threads this seems to be standard procedure requesting extra documents. They still do not know properly how many applications they have received as tomorrow is the last date for submission and some companies/hospitals (like mine) apply on the 5th of every month.

Hi all,

New on here and had a question, would very much appreciate it if someone could please answer :)

Last month's points cut-off was 56. Just wondering how they would have arrived at this figure?

From the 2 columns in the table provided on the sponsor guidance document https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 8_v1.0.pdf

I can see you can either get to 55 or 60 points by either:
1. 20 points for RLMT + 35 or 40 points depending on Salary = 55 or 60 points
2. 30 points for milkround/post study route + 25 or 30 points depending upon Salary = 55 or 60 points
3. Anything above this jumps straight to 75+ points

So could anyone please explain to me how an application would score 56 points based on this table?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I believe it comes down to salary

If for instance with limr test gives you 20 points then a salary of £50k-£54,999 gives you 30 point you get all up 50 points,

But if you salary is £55k-£59.99 you would get 35 points for this

I agree, but figured they probably decided that 56 looks better than 60. Both would be technically correct as there would be 0 applications between 56-59 points inclusive.

Someone explained before that it’s possible to get 56 points through milkround hires. Milkround hires start off with 30 points rather than 20 + whatever they get for salary. So a milkround hire with a salary of 26k could get 56 points.

Thanks for the replies!

Hopeful42 that is precisely my question, how would a milkround application with 30 points from the first column score 26 for salary when there is no band with 26 for salary? It is either 25 or 60.

I am inclined to believe what star25 said (thanks star25!) they just decided to use 56 instead of 60 as it looks like a better number (especially to people who are unfamiliar with the scoring system). Technically both would be the same as there would be 0 applications between 56-59.

Ah yes I see what you mean. I'd always just assumed they just wrote the cut off as 56 (like they did 46 the month before) because all points from 56-60 would fall within the same band anyway.

For the months the cutoff was 46, there was a possibility that an application could score 30 points via the milkround/post-study route and then 16 points for salary (there is a 16 points band for £36k - £36,999).

Maybe that’s what you meant on how a milkround would score differently to a RLMT?

However publishing the points cut-off for last month as 56 and not 60 just seems to be a move to manage perception.

Hi All,

My brother is applying this time again, I think he has 43 points (20+23 ) .

will the english Naric certificate add any points?

I am quite curious to know whether 43 points will get through this time as his application was rejected twice in last 2 months.

fingers crossed!

Hi all,

My potential employer just told me that he has made my RCos application for April 2018 with the salary section given as a range instead of a particular salary. Would this cause for my application to be rejected. When i asked them to change that this morning (5th of April) they said the guy who can make the application is on leave and I cant change it for this month. I have gone through 2 refusals due to the points cut-off in Jan and Feb with the same company. i had 41 points and had to leave the UK after 8 years at the end of my visa (unmarried partner). I wasn't renewing it for personal reasons and i was within the terms of the visa at that time. Any help anyone could provide to help me understand this would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance and good luck with the allocations for this month.

The range should be fine but I remember reading on this forum that they take the lowest number in the range when calculating the points which would put you at a disadvantage since points are so important lately. I really hope im wrong about that and someone else can shed more light upon this. What was the range of your salary if you do not mind sharing. If the lowest was 50,000 and above you should still be fine.

Aaah the range is between 37 and 45. The salary they had given me was 41k. This is bad. I really hope that they just ask for more details instead.

Some people have said the Home Office requests HR for extra documents once an RCos application has been made. Just wondering what sort of documents do they request for? Does anyone know of any examples?
Thanks

Hi, I’ve had the Home Office request for my employer to provide my employment contract as well as the description of my role in the January allocation round (ps. my RCOS application has still not been approved, so fingers crossed going into the April allocation now).

They’ve updated the tier 2 guidance and from my quick scroll through there doesn’t appear to be any changes re a higher quota or exemptions sadly :(

Yep I agree that there is no new changes although at the beginning of the document it says for the dates have been removed for the allocation section which I don't understand. Mind blowing that absolutely zero changes have been made by Home Office to attempt to resolve this issue which has been impacting peoples lives for almost half a year. Just have to pray for myself that 41 points makes it this month! Good luck to everyone, please post if you read or hear of any other updates or articles.

I went through it. My point is since the discussion happened just recently in the parliament I think it's difficult to publish any changes quickly. They can still notify and remove certain roles from the cap (Hopefully).

Coming to guidance it's crazy that there are no changes. There is no attempt to narrowing down the points band from 45-55. Even After many applications carried over due to high salary bands. This is really crazy. Have only 42:( Fingers crossed.
