I am applying from long time but getting rejected because of low points. Atleast this time HO requested for additional documents and that's gives me an indication that even HO feels that points may fall below 30 otherwise they wouldn't have requested for additional documents.

A quick question, my company has applied for my RCOS 30pt. Still waiting for company to inform me what happened as it should be released now.
Assuming it went below 30pt and I am able to get my COS. Does it matter that when I actully got to the visa centre to apply, the points went back up to 40pt?
Is the hardest part getting the COS? And once jumped through that hoops, as long as you have all the required material it should be a simple process to gain the visa?
Thanks

Hi, I would suggest talking to your employer first and foremost to get all the information in order, because you sound very confused and like they haven't informed you. Contact your boss or company HR because they should be the ones to explain it to you.

Also, I would suggest downloading and reading the Home Office's Tier 2 Guidance PDF. It is a long document but it will set out what you have to know.

Now, as for your queries: the COS allocation meeting is on the 11th of every month. This month it will be on the 13th. If your company has applied for this month (August), then it won't be released yet.

If they applied for a prior month, talk to them about it.

You won't go to the visa centre or be able to DO ANYTHING until you are allocated the RCOS. In previous months you would not have gotten it with 30 points. No matter what you think, or say, or do, the cutoff has been too high and we are all hoping madly it falls this month.

With too low points, the COS will not be allocated to you. The COS is ESSENTIAL before applying for a visa. You literally will not be able to apply for the Tier 2 visa without one.

If the points go to 30 this month and you get a COS, you have a set amount of time to use it. But from then on the process will be more straightforward as it involves lodging your application, making your appointment etc. Nobody can predict how long it will take to process after that, it depends on your location and the workload of the processing officers, so nobody knows

And just to clarify - is your salary 30,000 a year and not on the shortage occupation list or a PHD occupation? If so, that will be 30 points.

Hi everyone,

I've been following this forum for some time now and it is good to know many people out there sharing my emotional ups and downs over the past few months.

I have received noticed from HR that my RCOS has been granted. 36 Points - 20 RLMT + 16 Salary - No other bonus.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Cheers,
Muzz

Wow that is amazing! this gives me hope as I am on 40ps. That is also a really fast response. I wasn't expecting to hear anything back until early next week.

Hopefully this is good news for all of us.

No it is not correct. Minimum is £30k or whatever the SOC states, whichever is HIGHER.
