Dependent-visa Tier 2 General

Post by Numberdaar5 » Mon Nov 08, 2021 4:32 pm

Dear All,

Just wondering if someone can advise me on the following situation please.

I am on the Tier 2 (General) dependent visa. This is my first visa and initially given for 2 years and 6 months that is expiring in December 2021 (approximately after 1 month).

Mean while my husband got a ILR (3 weeks ago) on the basis of 5 years residency (Tier 2 general).

My question is:
1) Which visa shall I apply for extension, so that my continuity for 5 year residence remain intact.

many thanks in advance for help .

Skilled worker dependent visa. It will be a 3 year extension.

Hi All

Just adding few questions to my initial query. As kindly suggested by @CR001
1) I am using the following application form: extend or switch to your Skilled worker visa as your partner (https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/ ... d-children). The link to the form can be found under the section: Apply from inside the UK (extend or switch their visa).
o Is this a right form for me?

2) If the above mention form is right one, then there are couple of questions:
Which visa or permission to stay has (main applicant name) applied for or been granted?
Do I need to mention his most recent visa, which was Tier 2 (General) leave to remain?

      3) The next question of the application is:
Does (main applicant) have indefinite leave to remain or British citizenship?
Main applicant has now ILR on the basis of 5 years’ Tier 2 (General) visa. He used SET(0) application.

In this case when the main applicant’s current status changed, which rule/clause permitting me to extend my dependent visa based on main applicant’s pervious visa. As I have to mention it in a covering letter.

Regarding the documents to show we are living together (for example, a utility bill or bank statement).
The latest utility bill (which is on mine and my husband’s name) is enough for this purpose? I don’t have bills of previous six months on my name. Can I add a letter of landlord?

Lastly, regarding the maintenance amount (how much should have in our accounts and this amount should have for 180 days?

Your help would be much appreciated.

          Many thanks

          1. Yes
          2. Yes
          3. You don't need a cover letter. Caseworkers know this well. The clause is SW 36.1(b)
          4. I don't think cohabitation evidence is required.
          5. You don't need to show maintenance if you have been in the UK for more than 12 months.
