My buddie is a dependant of a WP person(wife). They have been married for over 2 years and were in a relationship before then for 5years.
The wife would be eligible for ILR based on 10 years long stay early next year. Her workpermit expires in 2011

What visa would the hubby apply for?
Can he also obtain the ILR at the same time as the wife?

If the wife is a work permit holder she can apply for ILR after 5 years in that status. the spouse can apply at the same time. If one is successful then both are successful as they are tied together.

Thanx.
The issue is that the wife becomes eligble next year for ILR based on 10years stay in the UK. Her WP expires in 2011 and thats the visa the hubby is attached to?
Just want to know if he can alos get ILR due to long stay. But he has just spent 5 years in the uk though. 3 years as dependant of WP holder
