I will appreciate your inputs towards my situation.
My wife works for the NHS as a staff nurse and I am a merchant seaman employed by a company in Norway.
My work requires me to stay offshore 6 months/year. I am in the process of making an application to join my wife in the UK as her dependent.
My questions are;
1. Are there allowable excess days outside the 180 day period granted due to nature of work for those employed by a non-British company?
2. When does the clock reset for me if I exceed the 180 day period/12 month while offshore. Do I have to wait till the ILR application before finding out that my clock has been reset or during my visa extension?
