Hi Guys

I work as a Cardiac Physiologist for the NHS (well, I'm trying to be) and have been denied a COS since finishing my Tier 5 visa at the end of November.

Like many of you, its a rough old situation being away from the girl friend, my flat and life over there.

I have 40 points and have heard nothing as of yet.

Good luck to everyone this week.

We will get to know when somebody other than NHS gets the approval for 30 35 points. I don't think that would be the case if that's the case nobody from this month would get Thier COS it's unfair and it will be mockery of the points based system. Why should others also suffer the same fate. Am bit biased here though sorry.
If that's the case all the best and enjoy.
I agree krimurthy
it is just points, thats all (as per the Sponsor guide) - I am sure current log, backlog etc is considered based on points order only
We already know they don’t always follow the points. Some junior doctors with 30 points got accepted last month so they do make exceptions sometimes. From that HO email it sounds like that company have had a lot of rejections in December/January so they might be making exceptions. Doesn’t mean it will be for everyone rejected those months though.

I have been waiting from December as well and I agree with krimurthy that the point system is the best and most fair way forward in this case.

Lets hope for some good news today. Happy Valentine's day everyone :)

I know it’s a difficult time for us all but I don’t think we should start debating who deserves to get their cos more. There are many different ways of looking at it. Some will think that those waiting the longest deserve it most, where others will feel it should all be based on points/salary, while others will think the points make things complicated because higher salary doesn’t automatically mean the need or importance is greater, just that that company may have more money, etc.

Let’s all just hope for the best that as many of us as possible get through and wish everyone the best of luck - and if not this month then soon :)

Hi guys, my RCOS was approved yesterday with a score of 55. My job is not under the shortage occupation list, nor am I a NHS doctor/nurse as well.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting!

35s & 30s 😳😳😳

Given the trend since November, if that happens this month will be a magical one

Hi,
My employer did RLMT last month and applied RCoS this month with 42K salary, So I think our application should get 42 points.

When I checked with my employer yesterday, they said the status was pending till half past 4 PM and then it got changed to under review without any note/questions asked.
So any chance this situation becomes positive or any one with similar situation like this?
Thank you.

I heard from my sponsor that it was under review yesterday morning - I am hoping it was either decided late yesterday or will be today, I am chasing my HR and waiting for their response

I have 50 or worst case 45 ( i have some confusion about on call hours - which are definite, so perhaps 50)

My employer was asked to provide more information on Monday. It was approved this morning exceptionally and outside the normal monthly allocation. I have a salary of £60K+ and under a non-shortage occupation so just scraped through...my lawyer said it's bit of a mystery as to how they approve each month.

Hi AV85 - that sounds very strange given you have a high salary. Do you know on what grounds it was approved exceptionally?

I just wonder whether the top sponsoring countries in the UK get any preference, hypothetical but you never know.

Will do. The doctor who got her CoS last evening told me her salary was 60k+ unfortunately. No news so far.

Hi krimurthy, what do you mean by top sponsoring countries?

Surely the cut off couldn’t be 60k (I’m going off the person that was told they only just scraped in with 60k). That would be terrible. I wasn’t expecting to get my cos this month but I’m hoping the score would at least drop again.
