I think the extension applies only if you're with the same employer and on same job/soc code.

If you change employer, then you are applying for a fresh Tier 2 visa (inside UK) that needs to meet RLMT requirements, etc. So you may be using wrong application link i guess (?).

Did you search the forum as this is quite common scenario n there should be a step by step guide i wud imagine
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Yes you have to apply to extend your visa.

Switching is for switching into T2G from another category.

Thanks for your reply.

I did try that option 'extend your existing Tier 2 (General) visa' from below link

https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/apply

But when I go inside some where it was saying like below

If you change your job You may need to make a new Tier 2 (General) visa application if:

you want to change your job and your new job is with a different employer

really confusing .... Can you guide me the correct link to make a new tier 2(general) visa application

Thank you advance for your help

Cheers

Extension eligibility:

You must have current permission to enter or stay on a Tier 2 (General) visa.

You must also meet the following conditions:

you have the same job as when you were issued your previous permission to enter or stay in the UK
you’re still working for the employer who assigned your certificate of sponsorship
you’re still earning an ‘appropriate salary’ - read the guidance if you’re not sure
You must be in the UK to extend your visa.

And in the same link it clearly states...

If you change your job
You may need to make a new Tier 2 (General) visa application if:

you want to change your job and your new job is with a different employer
your job changes to a different standard occupation classification (SOC) code, and you’re not in a graduate training programme
you leave a job that’s on the shortage occupation list for a job that isn’t on the list.

So, you need to make fresh application. Hope that helps.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Thanks for your reply.
Mine will come under Tier 2 (change of employment), I will be going to have same designation in new company but salary will be increasing to 40K. At the moment I am Tier 2(general) visa with current employer and current visa is valid till 15th of May 2017

As per guidance and you suggestion I need to use fresh application am I right?

Note: I will be going to apply from 'Inside UK'

for the fresh appplication can I use below (suggested by @rockcbe) link. Please confirm me

On what date do you qualify for ILR?

What date was your initial visa granted and what date did you enter the UK?

If you are applying to switch in April, are you aware of the immigration skills surcharge your new sponsor will have to apply for applications from April onwards?

Hi CR001, what about an big increase 7/8 months ago? Sponsorship Management System says company needs to report salary change excluding annual increment and bonuses. If the big increase in just annual increment and not reported, is that fine?
