How soon can I apply Tier 2 ICT extension ?

Hi

My Tier 2 ICT expires in Jan 17. CoS expires on Jan 3. I need to apply for extension ASAP as I have an important business trip in November to schengen which I cannot miss (which requires a 3 month UK visa after your schengen return date). Employer agreed for Premium Processing for Tier 2 extension. How early can I apply for extension? 60 days or 90 days? Can I apply 90 days from CoS expiry or only Visa expiry is considered?

Any information on this would be much appreciated.
