IHS Refund : Change of Employer

Post by wanderer05 » Tue Oct 13, 2020 12:47 pm

Hello,

Hope someone from the community points me to right direction.

I have change my employer (Tier 2 General) which got processed successfully ('Change of Employment'), my only doubt is do we get the IHS refund from my previous employment ?

Employment A: Visa Start Date- 01/10/2019 , Expire Date: 10/10/2022

New Employment B: Visa Start Date: 09/10/2020, Expire Date: 15/10/2022

So there is overlap of 2 years where have paid IHS fee more than required, will I be getting the refund for same ?

Many Thanks !

Yes, you should receive a refund for the time remaining in your previous visa. Be aware that it can take up to 6 weeks to receive the money in your account.

Was it for previous visa having tenure on it or refund from new visa having shorter duration on it ?

It has been more than 6 weeks and I haven't received the IHS refund for my previous change of employment application.

I have contacted home office about it but they keep saying we have escalated your query to case workers and you should rgt an answer in 10 working days. However, it's been 10 days today but nothing from them yet.

Let us know if you receive your refund.

Usually how is the refund process?
It said back to previous payment, if my previous payment is using Credit card, it will refund to my previous credit card?

Hi Mate,

Have you recived your IHS refund?

I'm still waiting and it has been more than 2 months since I got my new BRP.

I'm wondering if it is due to covid situation that it is taking them time to process.

I have also escalated this on their helpline twice but all they say is we can only escalate it to the case workers again.

Not sure what's happening.

Hello,

Am still awaiting for refund and literally counting weeks before I escalate it.

It shouldn't be due to Covid as what Home Office says it is automated process so might be taking sometime to clear backlog but we have only one way and that is to follow up after each SLA breach. Not ideal way though.

There is something wrong with their process.
I have escalated for the third time now. When I ask them is their any progress on my refund processing.
The customer services just say you need to wait 10 days, post which we can again escalate it for you and you'll need to ring us if you want to escalate again.

It's been 3 months waiting for the refund.

If thinking of writing a letter to the home office now.

Along with writing a letter (which may not work!), try to raise it with 'complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk' as well.
or follow this

Never mind!!!

Yes in the same situation, got an email saying all my fees including IHS will be refunded for an earlier application (T4) as I applied for ILR (SET LR) - the email was sent in November 2020. No refund has been received since, anyone got a number or contact line?

I tried generic line and they have no clue and claim it's an automated process.
