After having an approved RCO, should there be any worry obtaining “entry clearance”? Is there a quota for that too?

No. You simply need to meet the requirements and points,

Looks like they have borrowed 100 from August anyways 45 cleared door opened for others this unbelievable. Big backlog cleared thanks to new rules also I believe there we atleast 350 returned this month and there were less applications this month compared to other months.
Yes, it looks like they borrowed 100 RCoS from August. But August is the last month with 2k plus RCoS. Quota drops to 1500 or so from September onwards.
I do not think they borrowed, I have a feeling even 44 , 43 and below are going through -- keep in mind they already had 2150 Rcos available and another 300-400 from previous 3 months + the new rules .. which would reduce the load by another 800-1000 thats a lot of spare Rcos ..
When it says on exceptional basis it got to be borrowed by august though the quota for nurses and doctors are removed it's still depends on the no of higher points applications . Nevertheless 45 is cleared. It means it should go to 40 nect Month atleast or 30 again it all depends on various other factors.

Abhishek

Wait I see people talking about NHS being removed or something here, have they actually done that and NHS is exempted from the RCoS quota?

I think it's unused ones, so cases like where people got it but didn't use it. Or (and this is probably the primary reason) cases where the minimum cutoff was say (just using a random number for example) 46 but they had a few remaining certificates after allocations and instead of dropping the points requirement further to 45 they'd just leave the remaining ones unused because if they drop to 45 then there are more people applying at 45 than certificates remaining and there isn't really any particular ruleset to differetiate one 45 from another, which means either all 45 go in or none at all. This is why I think there's a backlog at certain point and once the backlog clears the requirement should naturally drop.

not sure if to wait for the RCos to be approved then resign and then put in the application for visa or just resign and wait for Rcos
Dont resign before the RCOS is approved. Because the employer can take back the offer incase he RCOS does not go through.
And dont tell ANYONE in family or friends until this is approved. Not telling anyone until approval will avoid a lot of hair-pull, heart break and made-fun-of.

I second the highlighted portion above. It's been a long 8 months for me, and I made this mistake of telling people about my move to the UK. To put it mildly, it didn't go well! So avoid telling people, at least until you get the RCoS.

So true Sir! My employer did not make me aware of the complexities involved. I hurried up to resign , informed acquaintances of going to UK and now jobless for 3 months now. Not sure if it will go through this month, however on already in process of finding another job !
Growing career gap and hopes coming down for Uk, at sometimes thought of staying back with a well paid job here arises..

Hello everyone,

I got RCOS with 50 points from my current employer.

As the RCOS application was refused consecutively 3 months, a few days back I started searching for another opportunity with a better salary and fortunately, I got an offer with >70k. But, the new employer hasn't done RMLT yet. They are going to start the RMLT now. So, it will take another 28 days for RMLT and then maybe a few days for the visa.

My current employer is asking for final confirmation about my movement. I am in the dicey situation. On one hand, I have, ROCS but with less salary, at the same time I have another offer with a much better
salary with decent benefits but, I don't have RCOS yet. Can anyone please advice me what should I do in this situation? Should I resign from the current company and rely on the new employer? As I guess with >70k salary there are very fewer chances of RCOS refusal. Or should I continue with the current employer?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm almost in the same situation, I've got CoS with SOL approved. I have another offer with 33 points which I want more. I'm very confused about if I should wait and resubmit for August and hope to points drop to 33 or accept the other offer which already approved CoS.

It depends on your current offer as well if there is no significant change dont go for it. Also look at the role and employer too. When you have A Fred or A+ rated employer it's always good.

You can accept the current offer and join.Anyway you have time for another offer to RLMT and other things for processing.Once you have entered into UK with Tier 2 General, another employer with higher salary can apply UCOS(Unlimited UCOS per year) so you will get easily visa transferred from current(lower salary) to new (higher salary)
