That's really unfortunate. They should take a responsible step to resolve this as they are loosing skilled people. perhaps they should invest more resources to control illegal immigration rather than suffering us this way.

My employer had tried for third time for COS in the month of May, raised the salary to 55k and above - software profession.. but still I was told the cos was rejected although it met points the monthly limit has crossed so the applications with priority like NHS only would be approved first. Is this point true ? someone clarify please.. my assumption was RLMT + Salary of 55k would fetch me 55 points or the least of 51 points and I thought it would be approved as the cut off for the month of May is 51.

The Home Office says that all applications received by 5th May with a minimum of 51 points should have been approved (they say nothing about reserving preference for NHS workers).

Could you please tell us how long you have been trying for and at what points previously?
50 points should have gone through for the month of April and 55 points should have gone through in May so this is quite confusing (and concerning) if your application has been refused (assuming all the details on your application was correct for e.g. base was £55k not including bonuses etc.)

It really doesn’t look like they care about skill shortage .. so far even the new home office leader has made zero impact to suggest he would change anything ..

Apologies for being naive , guys , but please can someone explain what is meant with this bit in the link explaining what part of salary package will be considered for RCOS :

allowances which are guaranteed to be paid for the duration of your employment in
the UK and would be paid to a settled worker in similar circumstances.

From a specialty doctor's pay perspective, is this relevant at all ? would my Call out rota charges be considered part of this allowance ?

Many thanks for your help.

Friends, are there any salary limits based on job role, considering the recent min score trend (including May), checked the option of new Ad with increased salary however my sponsor says for an IT resource even though with more than 10yrs of exp, the annual salary would be max 42k GBP. I do not find the pay range on govt site but approx salary for New entrant and Experience resource..can someone advise on this pls, thank you!

The company decides what they want to pay . You not valuable to them beyond 42k which I would imagine is still a lot compared to your current salary . I know for a fact in India the salary for 10 years of exp is not more than 10k

I am confused by this. Do you know what salary range was posted on the advert for the RLMT? Is it possible that they increased your salary to £55,000 but the range on the advert wasn't that high so you didn't get all the points you thought?

I suppose it sounds harsh but it is the truth , I am in a similar position where I asked my company for a higher salary and was told exactly the same thing.. it’s the ugly truth what I say, there no need to sugar coat it.
I’ve seen you on this blog since months and every month all of us try to be hopeful that things will change and just create this false perception in our head. I can Imagine how stressful everyone gets.
Hopeful 42 u been here for a long time and off all people should realise that given there were 1975 rcos available and only 55 got cleared is actually quite negative.
It’s better to break the heart once then breaking it slowly and slowly everyday.

Thanks for the response bro, I wanted to confirm if any salary limits as per HO for Tier 2 Gen visa as I was told in general, max of 42k gbp/annum will be paid to an IT resource. Btw, the above highlighted statement is not always true..and also I do not think sponsor decides UK pay based on your home country salary..unless he/she is your employer in both the locations..

Actually I realised the situation was negative in January and got a new job and have now stopped applying (even though my employer wanted to keep trying) and have another option/route but i still read the forums and offer advice when I can due to having been here for a while and having read a fair bit on tier 2.

My comment was directed at your comments about other people’s current salaries (personal) and telling people to flush their heads down the toilet, etc.

Why did you give up in January that was like the start of the problem ?
Look bro , you were smart to realise this issue early on, whereas a lot of people including me have waited for a while on hope, and now realised this , just would be bad if these people go through the same as us and live of hope for the next few months, better to be stern now so that they do not focus all their energy on this and find other similar/ better opportunities.

I didn't give up in January, I just sensed that the issue wasn't going to resolve quickly.

To each their own I guess. It's everyone's own decision how long they want to persevere.

So better they know the harsh truth, candy wrapping it only makes it more difficult for them. I read a post of someone in the May blog who felt ashamed that he had told his friends and family about going to Uk for work, now his friends were making fun of him because he is not going to Uk. Even went as far to say his friends were bringing him down and wished bad for him. Why should anyone have to go through such a situation because of a visa.
I too have secured a new job in end of April because of this nonsense but I was waiting since December for my visa and that is a good 5 months of my life I spent being stressed.
Th Uk has been quite hostile I suppose there are so many examples
1 winrush scandal
2 1000s of Indians denied visa for tax reasons and a few of their passports have been stamped under section 322, Marking them as criminals and terrorist ( these guys can’t go anywhere in the world now even as tourists )
3 the tier 2 cap issues
4 over 15000 Turkish immigrants who have worked in Uk for over 4-5 years denied extension visas

These are just stories in the news , bet there is so much more that is still under wrap

And even though the Uk said it would look into the wind rush scandal and invite the 60-70 deported people back in the past 2-3 months only 3 of these individuals have been contacted

The indians who have been denied visa due to tax issues have no right to work or health care in Uk right now and have already spent 1000s or pounds battling their case in court since months and only now did home office suggest they would review the case which might again take a extremely long time

The tier 2 cap - the health secretary , ministers , business and many other influential people wrote to the PM to relax the rules but she has not agreed to them.

I am also about to start to look for new job as the situation is bad. But also tell everyone not to search for a job in UK unless they earn 55K+. That way people would not waste their time, efforts and hopes.

Hi all,

My employer has applied for my Rcos with RLMT (40points) in May and got rejected as not meeting points cut off criteria.

I have requested to apply under SOC 2136 code this month, June2018. Can anyone just help me with the possibilities of getting Rcos in this situation?

Thanks,

The June RCoS topic will open on the 9th June, you should post then regarding your June possibility.
