No appointments available although visa centre in Pakistan is open?

Post by farazk86 » Tue Dec 01, 2020 2:50 pm

Hi,

I am applying for my wife (who is in Pakistan) to join me in UK.

I have filled out her application and paid for IHS and visa fee. Now to book appointment I was directed to VFS Global website, I chose my visa centre as Islamabad but was given this notice:
Off Topic
Due to the impact of COVID-19 there are no appointments available at your chosen Visa Application Centre. Please visit the website for your country of application for more details.
Before applying I checked VFS website and confirmed that they are open as can be seen from link: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/pak/en/zaf/a ... /islamabad

They also mention here that they are open: https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pk/en/news/ ... n-are-open

Is this information not synced with UKVI?

Is anyone else having trouble like this?

You should check different cities. I have heard many people have to travel to Karachi or different cities from Lahore for appointments.

Thanks CULLINAN, Lahore would be difficult for my wife to reach and Karachi is impossible, so Islamabad is the only preferred option for me.

Someone in another thread mentioned logging in at early UK times to get an appointment, so I'll try that.

This is so difficult, why do we have to rely on loggin in at different times rather than have a system for booking =/

Corona and centre closures have put everything on a back foot. It is unfortunate that applicants have to deal with backlogs. Good luck. Hope you can get an early appointment for your wife in Islamabad.

Any success with this?

Hi,

Yes I did manage to get one for Islamabad. I booked first week of December and got an appointment for 5th January.

From my experience UK time 7 am to 8 am worked for me as I found appointments available twice at this time. From the looks of it they release in batches as I would check everyday and only twice got appointments window open.

There are no free appointments, theyre all paid.

Hi all, anyone else struggling with booking a bio appointment in particular for Islamabad? i have been looking for days but nothing as yet, like others have emailed VFS and replied just the standard response to "keep looking". Any other suggestions for times, dates or any other general help would be great
