Has anyone applied for Tier 2 General (Primary Applicant) in VFS Kolkata in September this year ? And if yes, have you recieved the visa?

When I asked for an update to the Paid Advice service today , they said the application is waiting to be assessed (Application was submitted on 04th Sep. 2015) - I am not even sure what that status means ? Does anyone have any clue?

I was told that I could also call the Paid helpline service stating that the Work Start Date is already crossed as per the CoS(Work Start Date was mentioned as 14th Sep 2015) , and they could potentially try and expedite this - but is this something that someone in this group have tried successfully?

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks

I am in the same boat. My work start was 1st sept 2015 and applied visa on 31st aug 2015. Nothing yet. Means I dont think they expediate process in such scenario. They ll take their time. Wait atleast 15 working days before you contact them for an update on application.

Thanks for the ersponse.

I keep getting a response when I call up saying that the status is "Waiting for assessment by Entry Clearance Officer"...dont even know what are the statuses and what happens after that.

The guidelines given on their site are comletely misleading, especially for VFS Kolkata.

I hope you get yours soon Fahad.

From which number you get an update ? Is it a local indian number or their international helpline number which charges £1.37 per min ?

The India Helpline is :

India Telephone

Opening times: 8:30am - 4:30pm (India time)

You can call us on:

0008 00100 8785

If you would prefer to dial a UK number direct please call:

00 44 1243 218 117

When they connect you to the advisor, they ask you whethr its Debit or Credit card, and then its an automated payment system, where you need to key in the numbers rather than say it out loud to the advisor, and then once the card is accepted, they ask you why you are calling. So yes you would need to give the card details first and then ask your query. Did you apply from VFS Kol?

Last year I recieved similiar email. I applied for visitor visa which was granted but email came from abu dhabi I applied from islamabad. After I recieved this email I got another email after 23 days that my applications has been returned.
But that time the email didnt mentioned about further checks, it just said we have been unable to process ur application within 15 days, we will process asap.
So you probably have to wait for another 2-3 weeks.

Hi All

I submitted the application with my dependents - my son and husband. their start date is 2.5 months later than mine ( 20th December).

However, it was not disclosed what kind of enquiry and who will be inquired as my employer has not received any call.

Any idea how long is the delay and by when can I expect a decision?

URGENT: Out-of-country Tier 2 application timelines

Post by redaha » Tue Sep 15, 2015 11:28 am

Hi
I am submitting my Tier 2 General Out of country application online on the 17th Sept. I wanted to know if VFS Delhi or VFS Bangalore provide Priority Visa Service at their VFS centre?

Also, does VFS Delhi offer Super Priority Service for Tier 2 General, the website eligibility conditions are not very clear.
Thanks in advance

This link might help you 'http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/india/user_pay_services.html'

Priority visa service
UK Visas and Immigration will expedite the processing of your visa application and return of your documents.

Eligibility - Customers may request this service if they are

Applying for a visitor visa (excluding student visas) and
Have travelled without difficulty in the last five years to one of the following countries: UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country.
Domestic workers, who have travelled previously to the UK with their current employer
Employees of companies that are members of the Business Express Programme (managed by UK Trade and Investment in India) and are travelling as an official business visitor and Tier 2 category
Employees of companies featuring on the Premium Sponsors List
Bengaluru Visa Application Centre, across all categories with the exception of settlement
Long term student ( T4) category applying at Chennai,Hyderabad and Cochin.
Please note: If you have been refused a visa for any one of these countries or overstayed your visa to the UK or been removed or otherwise been required to leave the UK, the processing of your application is likely to take longer than the processing times set out below, and is unsuitable for the priority process.

What does it cost?

The priority visa service is optional and costs £ 120 (INR 12600 as per the local currency equivalent to latest consular rate of exchange) in addition to the standard visa fee.

Post by Junaidrai » Thu Sep 17, 2015 11:17 am

1. Category applying under (General / ICT / other) - General ( Shortage Occupation )
2. Country of application - India
3. City of Visa Application Centre - Chennai
4. Date of application - 16th Sept 2015
5. Date of submission of documents (if different from 3 above). 16th Sept 2015
6. Biometric done on 16th Sept 2015
7. Date Entry Clearance valid from - Waiting
8. Duration for Entry Clearance - Waiting
9. Date passport received - Waiting

I applied for Tier 2 General under shortage Occupation for me and my 2 dependent children yesterday.

Fingers crossed- I have submitted everything but still worried. i dont know how all this works but as far as i see on this forum the UK VI are very strict with visas .

my soc code and salary are all perfect. 37.5 hrs per week contract. my SOC code is on the required NVQ level

I got 70 points ( 30+ 20+ 10+10 )

docs submitted:

original passports of all three applicants
3 completed applications
English language - original degree certificate, letter from university confirming degree was taught in english, PBS calculator print out where i got 70 points ( 10 points for english as I could see my university and degree there )
TB Test Results for all applicants
Original bank statements with appropriate funds
Letter from bank as per the guidance
Birth certificate of my children
offer letter from my UK employer ( scanned copy )
contract copy from uk employer
IHS payment receipts for all three
obviously entered the COS number on the application ( start date of work is 28th sept 2015 )
COS was issued on 11th of Sept valid until 3 months

I hope I havent missed anything. I went to UK in March this year on family visit visa and stayed there for 3 months. so we all have a UK visa issued this year and it expired Sept 14th 2015.

Will keep you all posted

Regards

Hi all

If any one applied for tier 2 visa from India and have any idea about priority service please share your experience

My case I am filled online application for tier 2 opting priority service but before finishing the application it allowed me to do only standard service. Does any one have any idea do I need to opt priority service from vfs centre or while application time I have to choose option

"I have spoken to home office executive he said it was a reconcile problem" but I am not convinced with his answer if any one have any idea about this

Thanks in advance
