Police registration and travelling

I am not sure if this the right place to post this. I recently got my visa but I am required to register at the police but the oversees registration office is currently closed. Did anyone travel abroad (not to their home country) and came back to the UK? was it alright was s/he asked to about the registration at the entry? Is it okay to travel without registering?
