Skilled VISA - Can I apply for jobs without a VISA from outside the UK?

Hi,

I am interested to immigrate to the UK. I am a Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience.
I understand for my profile, I can only apply for the Skilled Worker VISA which also needs a sponsor.
I am willing to pay for the visa personally, but are there companies where in I can be eligible for job interviews without holding a visa and then apply for one, once I have the job offer.

Do employers allow non visa holders for interview rounds?
I also have 1 year local work experience in the UK
Please let me know the process to move forward.

There is no requirement to hold a visa simply to apply and interview for jobs.
