Skilled Worker Visa application from Pakistan

Post by Imran Ismail » Sat May 08, 2021 12:41 pm

Dear Members,

I'm posting on behalf of a friend (living in Pakistan) who has got the sponsor from a UK employer (Skilled Category). He has a few things to clear.
1. Any idea about the processing time from Pakistan and does COVID plays any role in the late outcome of the application.
2. What would happen if he get a better/ different offer from another employer during the first contract? does he need to apply for another visa or it just continues automatically until the expiry of the current visa.
3. Is there any chance to extend the visa after the initial contract expires? and how long it takes for the applicant to apply for settled status in the UK if any.
4. If anyone can share a link to a feed which has explained the general questions about this visa category. My friend is a professional and wants to weigh all options before applying.
Please help!

1. It varies and depends on the service chosen.

2. He has to apply for another visa with the new employer who kuxlst be a licences skilled worker sponsor. All fees and IHS will be payable again. He cannot for work for any other employer other than the employer who sponsored his skilled worker visa.

3. Yes, provided he has a cos from the sponsoring employer. It takes 5 years to apply for ILR.

4. There is no "general feed". Each person posts their questions in the own topic based on their circumstances. I suggest your frien reads the skilled worker guidance.

I suggest your friend register on the forum to ask his own questions.
