Switching of jobs on Skilled Worker Visa

I am currently on a skilled worker visa till early next year with a valid BRP till that period.

If I were to change jobs now and get a skilled visa sponsorship from a new employer, do I have to appear for BRP now or I have to appear for BRP only near to the expiry of the existing BRP card.

You have to apply for a new visa before you can work for a new sponsor and enroll biometrics again when you apply. If you are granted a new visa, your current visa and brp will be cancelled.

You cannot work for a new sponsor on your current visa.

Just a follow-up query if you don't mind.

Assume I get a new COS on 1st August 2021
I resign from my existing job on 1st August 2021 and then apply for visa as per the new COS on the same day.

Let's consider my notice period is till 30th August 2021
and I get my new visa / biometric card only by 1st October 2021

So in this scenario, theoretically, I can start working with the new employer only from 1st Oct 2021, but I am still allowed to stay in UK for the period of 1st Sep till 30th Sep, even though I am not employed by anyone. Is that correct?
