Tier 2 Dependent Visa - Main applicant had 4 year visa

Hi

I am a Tier 2 visa holder issued from Dec 2014 to Dec 2018 ( 4 years). I just had a daughter born in India. I am going to apply visa for her from India. I will be applying on August 2016. Which category should I apply ? Tier 2 for less than 3 years or Tier 2 for 3 or more years ?


Also, can I provide a letter from my Tier 2 sponsor for the evidence of money ?

Will I have to pay the fees for 3 or more years ? Though the visa that they are going to give will be for only 2 years and 3 months.

Thank you. The visa application fee really hurts for a 2 year visa

I have got a similar situation except that i am looking to bring over my wife. Is there some weblink or guidance note to this on www.gov.uk, because surely paying for a 5year visa seems quite illogical for a duration less than 3 years for the same category ?

dependents apply in line iwth main applicant cos, which in turn means it was either issued for less than 3 years or more than 3 years.
there are many other things which dont seem logical.. Its your choice what u think is right to apply for

Just to let you know that I applied for upto 3 years category and my wife's application was successful she has got her visa. So just to correct you that the applicants should apply in line with the periods of grant of the main applicant and not their CoS. This is also mentioned in the policy guidance section of "Periods of Grant". Not sure how many others have been mislead because of this.

1240 over 4 years may have been mislead.
Why dont u take over this task off me.
