Tier 2 Visa extension

Post by leomar102284 » Tue Jun 18, 2019 6:44 pm

Hi everyone, I just want to seek advise regarding an application for Tier 2 extension after having 5 year
on Tier 2 General Visa. Will this be refused due to 5 year cooling off period? This is my history:
I had my first Tier 2 Visa from 1/11/14 to 01/12/14 then I switch Visa to another employer with new COS. I was granted tier 2 Visa from 04/01/17 to 22/01/20. In total, I have 5 years and 2 months.
I will not qualified for 5year ILR at this time due to salary requirements. I am planning to apply for 10 year continuous residence next year but needed 10 more months to complete the 10 year requirements. I have accumulated 5 years already from my previous Tier 4 Visa, I arrived here in UK 9/9/2010. Any suggestions to complete my 10 years? I will highly appreciate any responses.

I think you can't extend tier 2 because your total stay is already more than 6 years. Try to switch into tier 4 or spouse visa
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Not sure what you mean by this but there is no such thing as a '5 years cooling off period'.
This is my history:
I had my first Tier 2 Visa from 1/11/14 to 01/12/14 then I switch Visa to another employer with new COS. I was granted tier 2 Visa from 04/01/17 to 22/01/20. In total, I have 5 years and 2 months.

You can get an extension for another year, up to 31st October 2020 to total 6 years on Tier 2.
