Time required for increase unrestricted CoS allocation

Post by jan01283 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 5:02 pm

Hi,

My Tier 2 extension application has been refused because my salary did not meet the minimum requirement for the shortage list occupation. My employer has agreed to increase my salary but only have we come to realised that we have used up the 1 allocation for the refused application. It cannot be amended so my employer has requested for an increase in allocation and it has been 1 week since. Does anyone know how long does this process normally take? Is it 3 weeks as they said or it could be done faster by ringing or emailing them?

Many thanks for your help.

Hi jan01283,

This is strange, normally it takes 2 - 3 weeks. I'm sure there must have been some mistake in communication. Are you sure they specifically said that it will take 18 weeks for giving your employer additional COS for this year?

Can you please confirm if there has been any progress with your application?

You can identify to them that its really urgent and that your visa will expire soon etc. According to what I have read in the forums this is what people have done. But its the first time I've heard it takes 18 weeks!!

Hi,

I am still waiting for the cos approval. My employer did email home office and they have asked us to email again 15 working days before my current leave expires. They won't treat my case as emergency until my visa falls into this time frame. So all we can do now is wait until before Easter. If we haven't received the approval then we will send urgent email again. :|

Hi jan01283,

Congratulations. Apply for your visa and keep us posted about it.

I'm in similar situation and my HR had asked for extra COS's to be allocated last week Thursday. They had used all of their 20 COS for this year.

I'm expecting mine by middle of this month hopefully.

Congrats again.

It is not ukba anymore. I think they merge with the other government department and the email we sent to last time was to the business help desk BusinessHelpdesk@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

It is better for your sponsor to send the email and they will respond within 2-5 days. Remember to attach your brp scan copy and mark the email as urgent. they will expedite your application if your visa is due to expire in the next 15 working days.

Hope this helps :)

Hi jan01283,

When was your visa supposed to expire? Did they do your COS allocation based on that it was supposed to expire soon? Or did you still have time for it?

Would appreciate your reply as my visa doesn't expire in 15 days.

BTW I got an email reminder from Home Office that my visa is about to expire soon and I should apply for another visa or leave UK.

Hi my visa is expiring in mid April and I have put my application in today for next week interview. They approved the allocation after 2 weeks but I don't think that's because of the email that my employer has sent.

On another note jan01283,

Do you know what reason and documents your HR put for an additional COS.

It would be nice to know as if they reject for some reason then I would know what reason to put for the next additional COS. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't happen. But just to be on the safe side its better to be prepared.

Will really appreciate your help here.

Hi,

No, we didn't submit extra document. There was a column for your sponsor to fill in the reason why they want an increase allocation.

Congratulations Jan01283, :)
I got my COS approval so next step is application.. Could you please post the list of documents you submitted.

My situation is I am currently on Tier 2 and changing employer and new employer has provided COS.

Correct me if anything extra needed.
1)COS
2)Passport and BRP
3)2 Passport photos
4)Bank Statment for funds
5)Degree certificate and transcript (not sure if needed as I am already on tier 2 and submitted first time)
6)Marraige certifiacte as applying for dependent.
7)Completed application form and health surcharges paid.

Do they ask for payslips, offer letter ? or any other document?

Many thanks in advance !!!

Good Luck Naval1234 for your application ... :)

Did you go through previous messages ?

Did your employer provide all details and send email to UKBA ?

I don't think HO ask money ( and £8000 a big amount too) for fastest allocation of COS.

thanks for your reply

yes I red all previous messages the guy jan01283 same quoted that when he rung home office they said processing time is 18 weeks but his employer sent urgent email with his BRP scan copy and he got early cos allocation.
my employer just applied for cos allocation I don't know what documents and detail he sent to home office, they said processing time 18 weeks and I check home office website indicative charges for ( optional premium customer services for small sponcers fees £8000.
what do you prefer shall I wait may be they will allocate next coming few weeks because my visa valid till 27 july, they will expedite your application if your visa is due to expire in the next 15 working days. They won't treat my case as emergency until my visa falls into this time frame ??
thanks

My employer applied on 3rd May 2016 and received it on 10th May 2016.

You need to give them all details. They don't ask for money as far as i know
