Hey guys

I was just wondering what people's process times were if they applied for a renewal of an unrestricted COS allocation between mid-end of September 2016? And this is without emailing them to expedite the situation? Are people still waiting or have they been allocated their COS?

We asked for our renewal on the 27th, so it's only been two weeks since the request went in, but my company wanted me to renew end Oct/beginning of Nov and we are just concerned that it still won't be allocated at that time? So just wanted to gauge general allocation time from some people that applied for a renewal or extra around that same time (I read most cases are dealt with within 4 weeks which would be fine for us but still just curious).

Mine took exactly 4 weeks!

Here is our timeline:
requested - Tuesday 27th September
Cos allocation granted - Tuesday 25 October

I would say ATM its about 4 weeks on average for an allocation. Good luck to everyone else getting one.

gwen3 wrote:Hello, sorry for the late reply.

So basically we sent the business helpdesk an email with the job description, my qualification and that the company have made a mistake in my last application. Additionally my sponsor attached a copy of my passport front page, visa , degree certificate and my contract that states my salary. They were really prompt in replying so it should work for you.

Just make sure that your sponsor sells you as a vital part of the company and that this role is the role is highly specialised.

Hi Gwen

I am applying for a switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2 as well and my employer is dealing with such a case for the first time. They don't want to hire a lawyer either. My employer has requested for 'additional unrestricted COS' to be allocated. It's been over a week and I'm wondering if there is something I am missing. Apart from Passport and Transcript (provisional, I am still awaiting official transcript), is anything else required?

Could you also share your visa application experience? Once i get the COS number I'll need to go ahead with visa application myself. Your inputs will be helpful, many thanks!

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has received an Unrestricted CoS in the last couple of weeks? And if yes how many weeks did it take...? I see in earlier posts they were taking around 4 weeks in October, but wondering how long they are taking in November... The application for mine has been in 4.5 weeks.

Same here, although doing a bad job at it. Basically my employer indefinitely delayed my joining date just 5 days before the intended start date, because they want to hear back from Home Office on allocation of uCOS. And the wait is freaking me out!

Yeah me too! I think we unfortunately just hit a very busy time for the office processing these :( My immigration consultant said there a lot of applications going in that don't affect mine (I guess for restricted Cos's) but they are slowing everything down. Mine hits 5 weeks tomorrow - fingers crossed for this week!

Hi geet and Barnsbury,

When did you receive your CoS?? Did you use priority??
Your answers will be really helpful.
