Travel India before joining new sponsor on skilled worker visa

Hi there

I have recently switched from Tier4 to a Skilled worker visa. I got my BRP 3 weeks ago. I suppose to join my new sponsor next week but due to unforeseen situation I must travel to India (home country) for 4 weeks before joining the sponsor.

I haven't informed the sponsor yet but thought I would check with you guys if this is okay to travel before joining the sponsor and return to the UK and then join 1 month late?

Could you please advise?

That's for your sponsor to decide.

You need to ask them if it is okay, especially as there would be quarantine period when you return to the UK which would presumably delay you starting work even further.
