Traveling before receiving my BRP

Hi,

I just got leave for a year after applying for a skilled worker visa.
However, my BRP has not arrived yet.
Due to the nature of my job, I can only get assigned AL/holiday blocks and my AL starts in a few days. This cannot be changed due to on-call commitments.

Now I haven't seen any family for more than 2 years now.
So I'm pretty much desperate.

Given that I technically have leave now, would traveling without the brp and applying for a replacement brp visa abroad work?
