UK bachelors degree vs UK bachelors degree (Top Up)

Post by AusJohn » Tue Jan 19, 2021 10:37 pm

Hello all,

Happy New Year. Would appreciate if someone can help clarify the below points. About to sponsor someone for a Tier 2 (MOR) visa but not sure if his qualification is suitable which is - UK bachelors degree (Top Up).

1. As part of the eligibility to switch from Tier 4 visa to Tier 2 (MOR), the job applicant must have a UK bachelors degree. Does this include a UK Bachelors degree (Top up)?

2. I'm aware UK bachelors degree (1yr Top Up) graduate don't qualify for the newly introduced 2yrs post Study Visa unlike UK bachelors degree (3yrs) who are eligible. Are UK bachelors degree (1yr Top Up) graduate eligible for Tier 2 MOR?

3. Would a graduate with a UK bachelors degree (Top Up) be considered for exemption from taking an English language test. Would the UK bachelors degree (1yr Top Up) suitable for Knowledge of English?

The condition states that - "having an academic qualification that was taught in English and is recognised by UK NARIC as being equivalent to a UK bachelors degree, master’s degree or PhD"

Many thanks for your guidance as always.

Regards,
John

As a licensed sponsor, you know you have access to dedicated compliance advice from the Home Office Business Helpdesk?

For the sake of your reputation, your license compliance and the safety of your sponsored workers, please use that service. Crowdsourcing advice from an internet message board seems very unwise.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
