Hi Guys,

I applied for my Tier 2 extension and PBS dependant extension for my wife through Premium service. Our applications were successful. We went to the Premium service center on 17th March 2016. We are waiting to receive our residence permit cards. It should be here sometime this week.

A few pointers and tips for people who wish to apply.

1. Documents list
Application form - Completed
IHS surcharge paid - reference number
Main Applicant Passport
Main Applicant Residence permit Card
1 Photograph
COS letter with appropriate salary ( Calculate salary based on 39 per week Hours if your job is listed on the Shortage occupancy list based on Annual Survey of Hours)
Dependant Passport
Dependant's current visa
1 Photograph
Cohabitation Evidence (council Tax, water or electricity bill) - This may not be needed, but it is better to provide as additional proof
Marriage certificate.
I also submitted a copy of my Driving license counterpart as i had a driving offense.
No bank statement (As my sponsor is A-rated)
3 latest Payslips - Additional supporting document, but usually not needed

2. Booking an appointment
The premium service costs an additional 400£ per applicant.
I booked the appointment in Cardiff, as it was closer for me. A lot of people book for Croydon. Cardiff appointments are available easily compared to Croydon.
At the Cardiff center, the process was easy and smooth. They gave me a decision in 2.5 hours.

Thanks for all the posts/comments on this forum. A special mention and thanks to "Manci" for the useful information and guidance.

All the best!!

congratulations

Just a quick question. I know if you have been in UK and maintenance is certified on CoS. what about dependent. do we need to show maintenance or letter from employer. All I have read on different threads that if it is extension no maintenance required if main applicant and spouse applying together . Please confirm

I am thinking of sending the 3 months pay slips even and marriage certificate. as this will be original so we will be getting it back as I will be applying by post.

Please can you provide link for the website where can fill the forms or we need manual forms

Please also tell do we have to provide photocopy of each document even

thanks

Answer: No need of letter from employer. No need to show maintenance if spouse applying with main applicant.

Answer: Yes, all originals will be returned even if you are applying by post.

Answer: As it is a postal application, i am unsure which form to sownload. Maybe someone else can help you with this answer.

Please also tell do we have to provide photocopy of each document even

Answer: There is no need for photocopies, but it doesn't harm in sending a set of photocopies.

thanks

Hi All,
I'm Sai and I would really appreciate some help and advice on this matter.

I've been in the UK since 01/05/2013 under the Tier 2 general visa. My visa is coming up for renewal on 31/05/2016. I'm looking to extend on with the same company under the same role. They have an A rated license.

I found this link on GOV.UK https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa which lead me onto https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... r2-general.

My concern is regarding maintenance of funds. There isn't a clear indication if 945 pounds needs to be maintained over a period of 3 months or if I need to show any funding evidence at all?

I'm a little worried as I've got just over 2 months and unsure as to what will happen.

Thank you
Sai

Hi ,

Is there any change after April 2014 , as to when I can apply for my Tier 2 General Dependent visa.

Can I still apply 3 months before my visa expires?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Experts,

After going through the posts in this forum , i am still not sure when is the earliest to apply for Tier 2 General extension. My current Tier 2 General visa expires in 3rd week of Jan 2017.

Manci: Can you please shed some light on this?

Thanks,
AJC

Hi @manci

Any help will be appreciated manci. I am currently on a tier 2 visa valid for 2 years. it expires march 2017. If i apply to extend for just one year so that it is less than the 3 years and one month, will I still be classed as new entrant OR would it be the experienced rate. I am under 25 still also.

The code of practice says this :
"
The pay thresholds for experienced workers are set at the 25th percentile for full-time employees in each occupation, using the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), except where otherwise stated. These pay thresholds apply to all other Tier 2 applicants. They also apply to all applicants seeking Tier 2
leave for more than 3 years and 1 month, including those who were classed as new entrants in an earlier
application
"

so I am uncertain at the moment how to proceed
