Thank you manci...

My Tier 2 priority application has been approved and I received the letter and BRP in 7 working days from my application date. I went for early extension though my visa was valid for another 6 months. As clarified by manci, no supporting documents were required apart from the marriage certificate. Got the extension for 3 years and 14 days.

Once again thanking manci for the immense contribution to the forum.

Regards.

congratulation,

Can you please let me know what start date your employer mentioned on the CoS and when the CoS was issued?

my details are
Visa valid until 21-07-14
(Initial application)CoS dates 21-22-11 to 21-07-14

If I get the CoS issued next week, for example 12-03-2014, can my employer put start date 13-03-2014 and end date 13-03-17?

The start date cannot be in the past. If the migrant is already working for you and you are assigning the CoS so that they can apply to extend their stay, you should enter a start date no later than the day after the last day of leave given on their current visa.
Please note that the migrant cannot apply for Tier 2 or Tier 5 leave more than three months in advance of the start date stated on their CoS.
Hi psw2009,

If you want to apply this month, I would advice you to put the start date as 31st May 2014 and end date as 31st May 2017. This way your visa will be extended till June 14th 2017. If the COS is issueed on 12th March, you should apply before 31st May 2014.

Since the visa fees are increased from April 2014, apply before 5th April and you will get the extension until June 2017 irrespective of your application date.

Send the whole application form unless instructed otherwise. Make sure it is the correct version, anyway you will be getting the link when UKBA send you the email. No need to send payslips, bank statements and language proof. Use special delivery.

All the best.

Hi guys, just a quick query on Tier 2 General extension fees. my timeline is very similar to psw2009, initial T2 general ending on the 30th of July 2014. I would like to apply for extension which will be for another 3 years in May 2014. I saw the new fees structure but confused on which amount I will be paying £601 [Tier 2 General, ICT up to 3 years leave to remain– Long term staff, Sport & MOR - standard main] or £1202 [Tier 2 General, ICT over 3 years leave to remain– Long term staff - main applicant]?

many thanks
Ann

Not sure about SOC code( if this helps i was already working for employer before applying for t2)
First day of T2 leave was 27th November 2011, but as you need to show £35000 salary for settlement i want to go through 10 years route.

I have access to SMS so if i know where to check i can check what my SOC code is

@DBK
you will be eligible for ILR in Feb 17. The requirements are here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... e-life.pdf

If your sponsor assigns the next CoS for 3 years you can apply now or shortly before your current leave expires, it makes no difference when because even if you applied now a 3 year extension would take you beyond Feb 17. The fee goes up from £578 to £601 on 6 April. Note that CoSs are only valid for 3 months.

Your previous job SOC code (1152) has been split into two as of last April: 3538 (financial accounts managers) and 4161 (office manager). For the former you would need a min. salary of £27,600, for the latter £21,800) - both are for a 39 hour week and for experienced workers. You are no longer entitled to the new entrant rate which was applicable last time because then you switched from T1 PSW. Assuming you are still doing the same job your sponsor, not you, has to choose which of the two SOC codes to use.

I am confused about new salary requirement and have to apply for tier2 extension before 6th of April. Can anyone please help. Manci you are a star, I dont know how you manage to advise almost everyone. GREAT FORUM.

In new soc code 2010 system https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... orkers.pdf my previous soc code 2132(Software Professionals) is now mapped to 2136(Programmers and Software Development Professionals) where experienced worker rate is £29800 per year for 39 hours per week. My current salary is £30k per year for 37.5 hours per week. Is it my salary at appropriate rate to fulfil the requirement?

Also to this date what is current version of tier2 application form for postal application?

Thank you.

yes - your actual hourly rate is 30000/52/37.5 = £15.88 which is more than the min. 29800/52/39 = 14.69

Manci...I need some advice. I received my Tier 2 extension couple of weeks back and it is valid till April 2017. I will be completing 5 years in Tier 2 in Aug 2016 but I will be eligible to apply for ILR in Oct 2014 by way of Long Residence. My wife came to UK in 2005 and has been my dependant since then.

Due to the expected changes in immigration rules in Apri 2014, which is the beast option for her?

1. Apply for FLR(M) once I get my ILR

(or)

2. Apply for ILR by way of Long residence once she completes 10 years in Dec 2015

Please give me your suggestion.

Thank you Manci.

Can you please answer the following as well.

1.My employer will be putting new soc code 2136 on CoS according to new soc code 2010 system? Because my previous soc code 2132 is now mapped to 2136. CoS start date will be the day after current leave expiry?

2. On application form section C.
C3. Do you have any passport or travel document which contains a previous grant of leave or which you used when you last travelled to the uK?

I have a previous passport on which PSW was stamped. Current tier2 leave was issued on BRP card with current passport. Also last time when I travelled I used my current passport. What to answer for the above question . yes or no?

Thank you.

Hi Manci,

I have got my visa extend but I am confuse when my employer is suppose to pay me new salary rate.

my old visa was suppose to expire in July-2014
my employer issued new cos start date Jun-2014 to Jun-2017 with new/increased salary rate

as I applied early so I have got my visa in March-14 so should my employer pay me new salary rate from March-14 or June-14?

Thanks a lot in advance for your usual help

no, they are only obliged to pay the rate in the CoS from the work start date stated in the CoS.
