Work from UK for company based in India

Hi,

My friend is planning to come to UK as his wife's dependent (Tier 2 ICT dependent Visa).
He is currently working for a multinational company based in India. He has some questions before making the decision to come to UK on dependent visa.

1. Can he come to UK on dependent visa and continue working for the his Indian company?
2. Are there any legal obligations?
3. Does he need to take NOC from the company he is working for?
4. Although all the employees in his company are currently working from home but does that mean he can only work from India and cannot work from outside India?

Request you to please advise on these.

He can come to the UK without job as this is not required for dependent visa.

If he works for a multinational, he will most likely be explained that the main problem in the way he plans to structure his work can be taxation. He will have the right to work in the UK, so he will not be breaking immigration rules. However, he will become UK tax resident and as he essentially will be working from UK, he shall be taxed in the UK. He might stay under the radar for a while but is it worth it? Can his company transfer him to their UK office?

It is very unhandy to live in one country and to get salary in another: you can’t really prove that you are properly employed and even getting phone contract might become challenging.
