work related query on Tier-2 general dependent visa...

Hi,
I am a tier-2 general dependent on my husband's visa. I am thinking on making some income by selling things online. so want to know whether my visa allows me to earn on my tier 2 dependent visa as self employed.

Please suggest. Thanks in advance..

Should be fine as long as you register with HMRC as self employed and pay the appropriate taxes and NI on your income.

Hi,
Thanks for your swift reply!
I am a bit confused coz the Visa guideline says otherwise. As per the Visa conditions, like my husband, I can only be an employee and cannot be self-employed or start my own business.
I am fine with registering with HMRC as self-employed person but will this create any problems during my PR?
Please suggest and thanks once again.

Tier 2 General Main application (i.e. your partner) cannot be self employed. The policy guidance does not say you, as a dependent, cannot be self employed. See 'Conditions of Stay' on page 8 of the policy guidance below.
