working 20 hours extra

Post by Stars6195 » Tue Jul 23, 2019 12:22 pm

Hi,

I am on tier 2 visa general, and thinking to work on the same field for 16 hours other than the hours mentioned in the COS. I wanted to know where the payment has to be made for that extra hours worked?

Any help much appreciated.

Thank You

You have to be on their payroll as a PAYE employee and the money paid via payroll into your bank account and you are issued with payslips.

Note that it must be the same profession and level as your main tier 2 job.

No, you are allowed to do up to 20 hours per week as a second job. Note that it MUST be the same profession and level of job you do for your main sponsor. It is not simply about 'same field', it must match what you do as your main job.

You do not declare the 20 hours work for ILR either. Only your main job and salary counts.

Ok but when i am on a payroll with the different company and paying the taxes for that as well it would be registered in hmrc right!! So no issues regarding that if i apply for ilr

Who decides the 'normal working hours' and where is that information recorded?

There is no provisioning of that information on the SMS online form, so who decides if the extra work is within or outside of normal working hours? Specially for jobs where you might have day or night shifts, what will be the normal working hours?
