Confused by the 28 day and 31 day rule? Please help

Post by Noahhh29 » Mon Dec 14, 2020 2:27 pm

Hello. I'm new here.

I'm a current MSc student at UCL, currently studying from my home country. I have been a student at UCL since 2017 and have completed my BA there so I have been to UK. However, it was on education loan so I didn't know to show the 28 day rule.

I'm really confused by the 28 day and 31 day rule in financial requirement. I can't seem to understand which dates are accurate.

I paid and submitted my visa application on 28 November. My passport submission and interview date is 30 December.
I have two electronic bank statements signed and stamped by my bank.

One covers 28 October to 28 November.
Second covers 29 October to 28 November

I also have a letter from my bank dated 25 November.

Does this cover 28 and 31 day rule? Or am I making a mistake?

Your evidence needs to cover a 28-day period, ending no more than 31 days before you apply.

Your university offers very detailed professional advice and guidance about applying for a Student visa:

I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

Hi. Yes I have read this. I'm asking does the letter and statement cover the 28 and 31 day period?

You seem to be over-thinking this. It is just a matter of counting numbers of days. It does not require special knowledge or expertise.

The statement must cover 28 days. Count from Day 1 to Day 28 to check this. Remember what the date of "Day 28".

From the day you apply, count back to "Day 28". How many days have you counted? As long as it is no more than 31, it is fine.

Hi.

So I counted back from 28 November which is the date I submitted and made the online payment of my visa and IHS.
So from 28 Nov, I counted back. 1st November is 28 days?
And the 31 day period ends on 28 October?

My only confusion was does the date of application get added in the 28 day rule or not? If date of application is excluded then 31st October is 28 days??

Since my bank letter is dated 25 November this falls within 31 days right?
Also my passport submission and credibility interview date is on 31st December.

So will this cause problems?

Given your continued confusion and clear anxiety about this specific matter, I recommended you get individual professional advice. Your university's international student adviser's role is to support you with your student visa application.

Sorry, no I can't. I have already taken time to explain very clearly how to check it for yourself, which is the maximum anyone here should be doing. The correct and caring thing to do is discourage your dangerous approach of crowdsourcing visa advice from random online strangers, including myself.

If you want someone to hold your hand through your application, that's what the free professional advice from your university is for, or paid advice if you prefer, given that your university's advice appears to have not met your high level of need either.

Interview for student visa not conducted?!! Urgent and worried

Post by Noahhh29 » Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:01 pm

I submitted my passport and biometrics enrolment today. My application and supporting documents were submitted on 30th December vis self upload

After biometrics, I asked the VFS staff for the student visa interviews and they told me that they do not hold interviews for priority student visa but only for super priority as the visa is processed in 1 day. I asked 2 more staff and they said the same. I left the centre but I'm really worried. If there is no interview then does that automatically qualify my application as bogus and not genuine?

I have applied for priority visa from New Delhi.

But the caseworker guidance states interviews are required. I am very nervous because of this and I'm beginning to feel I maybe rejected due to this

I advise you speak to the university that is sponsoring your visa. They can reassure you that this is fairly normal.

I did inform them. They also said what you said. Its just that we were subjected to mandatory interviews so I got a bit scared that it wasn't taken till now.

Application received at VFS, no message from UKVI?

Post by Noahhh29 » Thu Jan 07, 2021 5:56 pm

My processed visa application was received back at VFS Global but there was no message from British High Commission regarding decision. Does this mean something is wrong?

You will know the decision when you get your passport back.
