BRP and vignette work right error on Tier 4 dependent

Hi All,

Massive help and guidance require.

My sister and her family arrived in UK 3 weeks ago on student visa, on her husband's(who is on her dependent) vignette and BRP it reads "NO WORK NO ENGAGGING IN BUSINESS"

My sister is on M.Sc. Project management (1.5 year program). According to Government guideline he(dependent) is allowed to work full time.

Has anyone had this error?
If so, what have you done to resolve it and how long did it take?

I would be grateful if you could please guide me through as they are really tensed.

It's a common error, and if you act quickly enough it can be corrected free of charge. See my reply on Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:40 am in this other recent topic about the same matter:

I’ve seen your reply on your post.
What I am actually looking for as in my post is as there is an error on vignette and BRP both and they both are in the country already, do they have to report vignette error or BRP?
They’ve have reported BRP error already and the reply from home office says it will take 20 days for them to come back.

Is there any other thing they should be doing.
Also, how long does it take to get it sorted?

As they have told you, normally around 20 days. But right now everything is taking longer in almost every area of life.

Hi ther! no nothing yet. seeing lots of errors recently making me thinks if this is a deliberate act.
How about you? Have you applied for correction? If so, how did you apply?

You all can try asking or contacting other international students in your same course or University to see if they have the same remarks.

Given that the issue is happening very often, it could not be an error but a deliberate act as someone stated, perhaps due to the current circumstances?

I remember that with the previous Tier 4 visa (now Student Visa) not everyone was entitled to work, it was to the discretion of the HO.

I think correcting the vigenette does not make much sense, ll apply for correction only after receiving brp, hope it’s all good in brp as many suggested.

Absolutely false. A visa's work conditions are laid out in the immigration rules. It's the law, not down to the whim of a caseworker!

This doesn't make sense to me. If you report the error immediately, it can be corrected free of charge. If you miss the deadline for that and report it at your leisure, you need to apply for a new BRP and that has a fee.

The reason I won’t be reviewing it is as I talked to my wife’s uni and some other friends, they suggested me that this is just a vignette, not ur visa, so it might be different in our BRP which we ll receive, all ll be ok if it’s fine in brp

That seems unlikely to me, but okay. I hope the university will pay the £154 replacement BRP fee if they are wrong!

I got mail they are mentioned up to 20 working days will respond on your case, so it’s almost 1 week done, so your sister& brother in low already they faced problem, how many days they got mail about BRP correct confirmation, this is so bad situation nowadays in uk , if you don’t mind give respond on my message thank you so much

They got reply just near to end of 20 working days, now we can see that he has been assigned the correct right to work but still waiting for corrected card

Yeah - we use to have the message showing up until yesterday which was almost 6 weeks after we reported issue. We did not chase it up for 20 working days as they mentioned on the email saying that it could affect processing time but if you would like you can chase them up.

Hi actually finished 18th day as per 20working days, till now no reply from ukvi, I was really scared about BRP error when they’ll take action, if in case they couldn’t reply until this Friday what should I do if any suggestions thank you in advance🥲

Did you receive reply? Just little confused as you have said you were scared
If you have received reply you can reply then back asking for update and to proceed ur replacement card ASAP
If not, there should be inquiry email address you can inquire or call on

Sacred means they taking to much time. So that’s why I was scared, any way finally I got reply exactly yesterday it’s mean 19th day, what was we request mail to ukvi, should be we got automatically reply they mentioned up to 20 working days, I got 19th day they mentioned on mail 7 working days, they send it my postal address new card But... I should now cut the card in half and provide confirmation by emailing to them(ukvi) scanned or photographed copy of the destroyed BRP, so this is the total situation , thank you so much guys who respond on my mails..!!

Don’t worry brother, you’ll get confirmation mail up to 20 working days, you reported 14th April you’ll get it today or tomorrow definitely,
