Help on progression

Good day to you all
A friend needs help concerning student Visa application. He had MBA in finance from Cardiff Metropolitan university via taught program in London School of Commerce. He's presently in his home country but he's planning to move back to UK through student visa. What kind of programme do you think would count towards progression for Visa purpose, aside going for PHD?

He seems to be confused. Academic progression is not a requirement for Student visa applications made outside the UK.
