I am on dependent tier 4 visa here. i applied for visa extension as dependent of my wife same time as she did. same time biometric scan was done. now she has received her bio metric residence permit card on 27th of September but not passport and documents. i have not received my bio metric permit card yet. which is worrying for me. IS IT NORMAL? PLEASE GUYS ANSWER THIS QUERY WITH ANY POSSIBILITY YOU MAY THINK. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

tier 4 visa delay

Post by ak87 » Thu Nov 28, 2013 9:27 am

Dear Poonam,

I also submitted my visa application on 11/11/2013 at vfs Delhi and today is 14th working day but it is showing that visa application has been forwarded to bhc same as in your case.I think that they are delaying tier 4 category visa at present.

Hi,

Before my student visa expires, I have applied Tier-1 (Post-Study-Work) on the basis of ACCA qualification on 2nd April 2012 but unfortunately my Visa application was refused on 21st September 2012 and I took this case in court and right now my case is in Court of Appeal and after Syed Case there is no hope so I was wondering, can I switch now to any other category, like student, within 28 days after receiving my court decision?"

I came in UK on 9th September 2010

I would really appreciate any expert advice on this

Kind regards

Done with the interview today although my biometrics were given 2 months ago. They took almost month more compared to your case to call for the interview! probably Christmas was the reason. Have you got any updates or contact at all, its been a long time since your interview!

no update at all.. please post your timeline so i can see and follows yours aswell.

i think they like us too much, that's why they have kept our files. i think its just luck, i had my friends who applied and got it within a month including the interview and for me and you it is a different story. so its just luck where your file ends.

good luck and please keep me posted of your application. oh, and btw, how did your interview go? was it strict?

hello all,
there is an update to my application.

Service used : Student batch scheme
Date of submission : 10/10/14
Date recieved by HO : 11/10/14
Further documents asked or not : NO
Date of Bio Metric letter : 21/10/14
Date of Bio Metrics Done : 28/10/14
Date of interview : 08/12/14
approval letter date: 23 January 2015
Date of receipt of Bio Metric Card: 28 January 2015

finally the nerve wracking is over. during the wait I had all different sort of ideas about getting refused because it was taking long but it was not the case. the wait paid off in the end.

I would specially like to thank Mr Frontier Mole who has always given me the correct advise regarding the application and has been there when I was upset/down in relation to the process.

the most valuable advise he has given me is that the whole system is a big 'sausage machine' and first in will be first out. and if the decision is taking longer it does not mean that the application will be rejected. Great advises and very helpful Mr Mole.

thank you.

A big SAUSAGE MACHINE indeed, here is my story:

Service used : Premium Service
Visa type: Tier 4

Date of appointment : 11/11/2014
- Biometrics were enrolled at this point
- Received email confirmation onsite once my data was processed
- It was then time to wait for the decision, my number did not come on screen, but was called by mic (the case worker came to the cafeteria searching), and back at his desk said: everything is done from my side, but I am not getting a final green light from our system and have to forward your case to them! otherwise your are a low risk national, your papers are complete so it really is not clear what the delay is for! he also said, I do not think your case would take long, perhaps two weeks.
- I was then given a letter starting with: "Your application is valid but there are further inquiries that need to be made on your case ..."
Invitation for interview: 12/01/2015
Interview date: 21/01/2015
Approval letter and document returned date: 09/02/2015
BRP Card Received: 12/03/2014
- This one last extraordinary delay of the BRP card was because of the courier (DX), the losers do not bother to check your flat, instead, many days passed before I realise they have left a small card randomly at the main gate of the building in a place you would not check! even though the building itself has a management office but no, DX people do not ring a bell, do not use their brain too I suppose. By the time I found the card, my BRP was back to the home office. The home office sent an email asking me to check my address again etc, I explained what happened and asked for a reference number to be able to chase DX this time. Home office reply indeed included a DX reference number and I chased the card it accordingly.
